Using a thumler tumbler with stainless steel pins cleans the best.  It is a bit more work though as you will need to rinse off the soap and completely dry the brass.  And, the primer pockets will be completely clean, but you will need to decap the brass first . . .

Check out Ren's pics above
Thanks....
I already decap my brass before I soak them.   :shaka:

Isn't wet cleaning better than dry?  Tried using lemon juice and it came out good enough. What's the benefits of dry verse wet? I read that wet cleans better...

As far as I know you can shoot it on any private property freely. There might be some safety issues you have to deal with but if your neighbors are cool n you setup targets right youll be ok. Just take precautions when teaching them to not draw the bow aiming up. The two ranges I used to use is koko head and kapiolani park.

Just in case you missed this post.

Thanks brass, didn't see that.

The range is closed most of the week. Who's to stop you if you drop a few targets out there hehehe  :D  I'm super busy in the next few months but wouldn't mind helping to put something together to get things moving. I say start a new thread asking for volunteers n donations. I'm sure someone has a construction company we could pay at a discounted rate to fix the facility.

Anything is possible, how much are you willing to help.  :shaka:

Can we afford to wait till if n when the budget gets approved? If every person donates just $5 each time they shoot at least once a month we would have enough funds to repair the range within 3 months. Imagine how much money we could get each week. Make improvements during the off days so people can see what their money is going too.  The RO can take the money and elect someone to oversee the funds and direct the volunteers to make the improvements needed. I think it's a simple and easy fix with the right people coordinating the project. If anyone knows of a non profit to run it that would be best and donors can get tax credit.

This will be very interesting if it gets passed.... How many or who will it have to go thru to become law? This would be a huge leap forward if we could pass this law. I'll spread the word on social media site I frequent. Other should do the same. This would simply mean we would not get sued or charged even if a robber gets hurt on our property while trying to rob it!!!

General Discussion / Re: buyback program hearing

I am a citizen, and I vote. We do not want or need a gun buyback. [/i]

I wonder what kind of response Hawaii would have if we asked for a state wide vote?  Im sure there will be a lot of people that don't care ban or no ban that will not even vote. Perhaps a lot of people will not hassle to vote even if they agree with the ban.... But I'm sure we will have every gun owning person to push for killing the ban?!?  Would it be worth the risk???

Just read the curent configuration of the bill..... It sounds like if we were to use a bullet button it would bypass the whole assault weapons ban?

What's a bullet button?

Gang violence ??? Haha. Have you been to the mainland.? Hawaii does not have "gang violence"! I'm tired about hearing about teachers salaries. They make pretty good money when you break it down. They only work 9 months out of the year. Have you ever taken a look at how much a sheriff gets paid? Most of them could qualify for welfare and they carry a gun everyday. Most them that are assigned to patrol do the same job as HPD and encounter the same risk.  :wtf:

I have been to the mainland, seen the gangs in LA and I know that Hawaii is not as bad as mainland... Thank god!!! but still it is here and its getting worse, you just don't hear about it in the news as much.  Schools with military families get a lot of action and confiscate weapons quite often in the past that I was exposed to including hand guns! I agree with you that state and federal employes across the board are underpaid!!!  Hawaii is not in a position to do anything due to our debt, unfortunately the wrong people suffer like law enforcement, teachers and many more.  My point is that why put all that money into something that isn't really needed here locally and it can get allocated to something better!  That's all...  :stopjack:

Can we as a state of Hawaii deny this EO?  There willing to give all this money to add security to our schools when our own teachers are struggling to keep their jobs!  Teachers paychecks have been cut drastically to make budget so they suffer with the financial burden.  This I won't understand if it passes Hawaii law and let the schools faculty still suffer! Everyone i'm sure will agree that the quality of teaching is not like it used to be.  I was just talking to couple old timers last night and they agreed, and send there kids private school cause the public system sucks!  Do we actually need the extra security and expensive equipment that the EO is recommending? I think the problem in Hawaii is the gang violence more than anything in the schools.

General Discussion / Re: Exec. Orders to TAKE Guns
« on: January 09, 2013, 07:57:05 PM »
What if all of you are right? What if its a huge coverup or conspiracy and the government is using gun control to hide something? What if some top secret agency planned all this? What if all those situations in the movies were actually inside details of true events?  Lol I'm just saying and curious like everyone else and want to know the truth. I'm also more curious to see how confiscation of arms or even a ban will divide this country. From all the texans I've talked to about it says they have a clause in their constitution that will allow them to act as an independent country if they want... Is that true and if so, will other states try to do the same?

I try to look at the bigger picture and try to look at it from both sides. As a father I'd hope that this wouldn't happen in Hawaii but it has shown signs of it as we'll as violent hostile situations. I must agree with the article earlier in this thread from a Texas rep. That mentioned if the principle had access to a gun would that person be dead? Would there be as much casualties as there were? I would agree that certain school officials should have access to PROPER training and be able to access a firearm if need be in case something like this happens. I'd hope for my kids sake that it can be possible. I'd like to see strict gun control for us in Hawaii anyways... Even tho its ridiculous already just to get a gun, especially a hand gun.  :wtf: anyways I'd like to say thanks for the news and info and knowledge of what's going on out there cause I don't get much info about it in the news... Too busy with trying to keep my fam feed n under a roof   :shaka:
