I share your pain.  One of the reasons marketing sucks is they only charge vendors $5 advertising fee which probably doesn't go far.  This means the vendors, clubs, and attendees have to do the marketing.  I posted flyers at the university,, marine range, at work, and friends along with my social media sites.  Got a bunch of people to attend.  I'm thinking of markets they can advertise to that they probably haven't.  Military, law enforcement, security, shooting clubs, outdoors sportsmen, etc.

The military and law enforcement should be the ones snapping up your vaults, surprised they're not getting them.

Most of my sales are to HPD but it's still slow, I sell maybe 10/year.

How about marketing so that we get more than 2500 people out of 1,000,000+ to show up?  The turn out is pathetic, I am a vendor every year and pretty much don't sell anything, a HUGE waste of my time.  I would be willing to pay more for my table if it was spent on getting people to the show.  I would also like to see people stop being such cheapskates.  I sell Monster Vaults, they are $699 in the mainland, I ship them down here and sell them for $650, how are you going to complain about that?  Seriously... I make jack nothing on these safes, but I am still made to feel guilty to give you a discount.  Every year I say I am done, but then I say maybe this year will be different.  Nope!

I suffer from kidney stones as well.  Praying for you.  I have started taking a product called stone free (good for Kidney and Gal stones), and so far so good.  Look into it!  Down to Earth sells it, I'm sure Whole Foods as well.

If a person was a firearm owner prior to the BS Rap Back law, are they automatically entered into the system? Or is it only if you buy another firearm after the law was put into effect?  If it's the latter, it looks like 80% lower purchases will go up.

General Discussion / Re: New Change in Firearm Paper Work at HPD
« on: December 27, 2015, 04:39:29 PM »
Even if this is corrected now, if I was with Kaiser/Straub and IF given the opportunity to change, I would switch to HMSA or another plan that doesn't play games with people's lives.
My opinion only.

It is not a Kaiser or Straub problem, it is HPD.  I work for Kaiser, have for 15 years, and I have spoken to numerous parties including our lawyers about this.  Kaiser's policy has always (let me repeat that ALWAYS) been to send over the medical records requested to HPD just like we signed for them.  HPD used to review them, and now feels like making Kaiser and Straub provide a letter attesting to your mental status.  HPD has decided to change the process, not Kaiser and Straub.  Stop bashing your medical insurer when the douchebags in question work at HPD.  I have also spoken to the Dr. who wrote the letter HPD was giving out.  He never gave permission for this letter to be passed around by HPD, and as of last week has or will be sending a cease and desist to them.

Email the following in opposition to SB 69:
senespero@capitol.hawaii.gov, sendige@capitol.hawaii.gov, sengreen@capitol.hawaii.gov, senkahele@capitol.hawaii.gov, senkouchi@capitol.hawaii.gov, repaquino@capitol.hawaii.gov, reping@capitol.hawaii.gov, reprhoads@capitol.hawaii.gov, repichiyama@capitol.hawaii.gov, repthielen@capitol.hawaii.gov,

My email to them:

As an American citizen who appreciates and loves our Constitutional rights, I'm urging you to champion the Second Amendment rights of citizens in your state by opposing any and all legislation regarding SB69. The Second Amendment expressly states: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

These unconstitutional laws do nothing but take away the rights of the law abiding citizens.  If you honestly believe that criminals will care about these or any other laws, then you do not belong representing we the people.

My patriotic, law abiding, firearm owning family, friends and I will be watching your votes carefully.  Any votes against your constituents, will be met with votes against you on your upcoming elections. Honor your Oath of Office and protect our Constitution of The United States of America, or you will be voted out of office through the election process.

God Bless Patriots and The United States of America!

Sincerely,
Mr and Mrs xxxxxxx

Grassfire Update:

Sen. Harry Reid's gun-control legislation has cleared the first hurdle (68-31) -- bringing the creation of a national gun registry and the outright confiscation of your firearms closer
to reality.

YOUR ACTION NEEDED!

This battle for our right to keep and bear arms can be won, but we must have the support of key Democrats in traditionally pro-Second Amendment states!

Don't let Harry Reid grab your guns without a fight!

Legal and Activism / Hawaii: last chance to stop SB69
« on: April 10, 2013, 01:39:37 PM »
Senate Bill 69 passed in the state House of Representatives earlier this month, and will be considered for concurrence and final passage by the state Senate tomorrow 4/11/13.

Please email all of the Hawaii legislators on SB69 NOW   :shaka:

My quick email, you can copy if you wish.

To whom it may concern,
As law abiding Patriots, and voting citizens, my family, friends and I urge you to vote no on SB69.  Hawaii is already one of the lowest gun crime states in the nation, and also one of the most restrictive when it comes to firearm rights.  Criminals do not care about laws, hence the fact that they are criminals.  All SB69 will do, is to further burden law abiding citizens of the state.  My family, friends and I will watch your votes carefully, and remember them come the next election.

Please keep your oath of office, and protect the Constitution.

GOD BLESS PATRIOTS AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

No he won't. I spoke to him at length on guns and he is an avid gun guy/owner.

The question should not be if the Sheriff would or would not seize firearms.  The question should be if the Sheriff will stop any agency that is trying to enforce an unconstitutional law.

Legal and Activism / Grassfire Alert!
« on: March 28, 2013, 01:35:32 PM »
If the president can put on stage the mothers of shooting victims, the NRA or the like should put potential rape and murder victims that have been saved by firearms on stage as well.  I'm so tired of the double standard bullshit of the government, we need to get all of these ass gaskets out of office on the next election!  I pray that the "Sheeple" of the United States wake up soon, before all is lost.

We need to keep steadfast on out emails / letters to Congress and the President, to support and protect the Constitution.  All these people forget that they took an Oath of Office when they entered as Public Servants, an Oath that once broken should be treated as treason.

GOD BLESS PATRIOTS AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

From the Grassfire Alert:

President Obama and his radical, leftist allies have your gun rights clearly in their sights. Today, March 28, the President hosted a White House event with mothers who support gun control. Law enforcement officials and victims of gun violence also are expected to attend.

Obama's anti-gun "show" is part of something called the National Day to Demand Action. The sponsors of this radical-left effort to demonize gun owners and threaten your Second Amendment rights include the President's ultra-liberal activist arm, Organizing for Action, and Mayors Against Illegal Guns, led by New York City's nanny mayor, Michael Bloomberg.

Here's the announcement of today's event from the website, DemandAction.org:

"Today, supporters across the country are joining a National Day to Demand Action to end gun violence. ... (B)ut to make sure that reform is meaningful we need Congress to pass the strongest possible legislation. ... Please call your Senators today and tell them you Demand Action."

Once connected with a Senate office, the organization asks supporters to tell the staff that they support the Senate bill that "requires criminal background checks for every gun sale in America." It also instructs citizens to ask their Senators "to support legislation that bans assault weapons and limits high-capacity magazines."

Back in January, Obama's former deputy campaign manager, Stephanie Cutter, told MSNBC:

"President Obama's network across this country, grassroots individuals, who organize, volunteered with their time to get the president re-elected are much more powerful than the NRA lobby. And I think that you can expect to see that network activated very soon."

That "network" is Organizing for Action, and "very soon" is TODAY!

General Discussion / 2013 Truth About Gun Owners (TAG) Poll
« on: March 27, 2013, 10:01:00 PM »
Please take this NRA-ILA poll  :shaka:

http://www.2013tag.org/?f=1321C10010

From the NRA-ILA:

Barack Obama has declared open war on your Second Amendment rights. And if you want to save the Second Amendment and the future of liberty, I need to hear from you right away.

President Obama has already issued nearly two dozen executive orders, allowing measures from invasion of your privacy to tax-payer funding of his gun ban agenda.

Now his administration is working hand-in-hand with powerful gun-ban leaders in Congress like Senators Dianne Feinstein and Charles Schumer, and Representatives Carolyn McCarthy and Nancy Pelosi to ban many commonly owned rifles and handguns. They even want to create a national registry of America's gun owners!

These attacks are just the beginning of an anti-gun barrage that will decide once and for all whether future generations of Americans will have the right to own firearms.

Strategies and Tactics / Re: How to deal with an intruder?
« on: February 19, 2013, 10:11:37 PM »
U can't reply on the cops!  Defend yourself!

I'm glad you and your family are safe from that encounter.  30 minutes is a pitiful response time for an intruder call, but typical of the pd.  They are not legaly responsible to assist, so don't ever depend on it.  Grab gun, baracade or run if can, then call the pd just as you did. Good job yo!

We need to do all we can to get these knobs out of office. I'm so sick of being represented or lack there of by idiots. Problem is that most of Hawaii will vote by name only, regardless of track record.

Got this from the NRA-ILA today  Time to ramp up our efforts guys and gals.

Senate Bill 69, a gun “buyback” measure, was amended and passed in the Senate Public Safety, Intergovernmental and Military Affairs Committee (PSM) on February 7, by a 3-1 vote. This bill will be heard next by the Senate Ways and Means Committee (WAM).  We will inform you as soon as a committee hearing is scheduled for SB 69.

As introduced by state Senators Will Espero (D-19), Rosalyn Baker (D-6), Brickwood Galuteria (D-12) and Josh Green (D-3), SB 69 would appropriate $100,000 to county police departments statewide to establish gun “buyback” programs.  Such gun buyback schemes across the country have proven to be complete failures and a waste of taxpayer dollars.  The average person who voluntarily surrenders a firearm to police is not a criminal and the firearms surrendered are not those misused by criminals.

Please contact members of the Senate WAM Committee TODAY and respectfully express your opposition to SB 69.  Contact information for committee members is provided at the bottom of this alert.

Senate Bill 932, terribly flawed mental health legislation, was amended and passed in its first set of committees.  On Monday, this bill passed in the Senate Heath Committee by a 5-0 vote and on Tuesday, it passed in the PSM Committee by a 3-0 vote, with two excused absences.  Due to overwhelming opposition to the original bill, it has been amended to create a task force that will provide input on how to improve the mental health system. Both the NRA and Hawaii Rifle Association (HRA) are expected to be participants.

As originally introduced by state Senators Josh Green (D-3), Suzanne Chun Oakland (D-13), Clarence Nishihara (D-17), Russell Ruderman (D-2), and Maile Shimabukuro (D-21), SB 932 would have subjected Hawaiians to warrantless entry into their homes, warrantless seizure of their firearms and other weapons based solely on a mere “report” by a so-called “mental health professional.”  For more information, please see our previous report.

Your NRA-ILA will notify you as soon as the amendments are made available for the above bills.

Legislative Recess - A Perfect Time to Meet with Your Legislators at Home

The state legislature goes into a mandatory five-day recess from February 21-26.  During this recess, neither the House nor Senate will convene, however hearings may still be scheduled.  Many of the Neighbor Island legislators take this time to fly home for a few days.

Politicians are usually interested in their reelection and always more interested in talking to residents who are registered voters.  If you are a registered voter on any Island, please make a phone call this week to your state Senator and state Representative and ask for an appointment to meet with them during the recess to discuss firearms legislation. You can use this link to determine their contact information.

If you are not registered to vote, you can download the registration packethere. You may also request a voter application by mail by calling (808) 453-VOTE (8683); Neighbor Isle Toll-free: (800) 442-VOTE (8683).

If do not receive an appointment right away, do not hesitate to call back and politely request one again.  Your state legislators are sent to Honolulu to represent you – they have a mandate to meet with and hear from their constituency.  If your legislator does not have a district office that is available for meetings, a public venue of some sort (coffee shop/restaurant) should be acceptable.  If you are unsure what to say, just politely express your views and concerns regarding firearms legislation.

Please contact members of the Senate WAM Committee TODAY and respectfully express your opposition to SB 69.
