Oh that's a good point, I didn't even think about leading in the barrel. So looks like jacketed bullets are optimal for accurate loads. Thanks!

I just used the 9mm pictures to show. I'm more interested in .308. But I do reload 9mm also. I appreciate the information!

General Discussion / Re: where can i find a .22lr kit for AR locally?

So if it was available from your distributer I could walk into sports authority and
order it? Even with the 20% off coupon?

Coupons are not valid for special orders. But you could order it, if they were in stock....but they aren't.

Pistol and Rifle.

Hard Cast Bullet

vs.

Jacketed Bullet with Soft Lead Core

And this is basically the only information I've been able to find:

But this video is more like 12 minutes of a guy hammering bullets rather than comparing the benefits of using one over the other.

Letter from Big Rock to their dealers, one of the largest distributors in the country::
-snip-

The distributors that we use are Sports South and Williams Shooter Supply. But I stand corrected.

how much was it???

If they were in stock, the below prices are what it would cost to order these .22LR conversion kits through Sports Authority (prices include shipping, but not tax). I'm not sure what you would pay for them at local gun shops though. These are the only CMMG conversions available through our distributors:

Quote
CMMG Bravo SS .22 Arc Kit 25 Rd
Comes with: Stainless Steel Bolt Group, 25 Rd Arc Magazine
MSRP: $229.95
Actual: ~$218

CMMG Echo SS .22 Arc Kit 25 Rd
Comes with: Stainless Steel Bolt Group, 25 Rd Evolution Magazine, Charging Handle, Forward Assist Adapter, Cleaning Jag Guide Rod
MSRP: $279.95
Actual: ~$246

CMMG India SS .22 Arc Kit 25 Rd
Comes with: Stainless Steel Bolt Group, 25 Rd Evolution Magazine, Charging Handle, Forward Assist Adapter, Cleaning Jag Guide Rod, Brass Locking Lug, BHOA, Mag Loader
MSRP: $329.95
Actual: ~$286

We do not allow back orders, but the CMMG online store does.

Reloading / Hard cast lead vs. soft lead

So I haven't been able to find much information regarding the accuracy of hard cast lead bullets vs jacketed soft lead bullets. Anyone have any experience or information regarding this?

Simple Supply-Demand.

Before: Demand is high, so higher prices.
Now: Demand is low, so lower prices.

AFAIK, dealer costs didn't change though, at least not what I've seen from our distributors.

I guess the question is any safes in stock?

I'm not sure about the other stores, but the Windward location doesn't sell safes.

-snip-

Both of these little revolvers shot point of aim at 5 yards but both shot kind of high at 7 yards.

-snip-

Might this be because of an angled bore axis?

I saw one made out of plexi. The guy told me 223 will make stress cracks or break it. 22 is ok.
Got this picture from a friend.
