Remember that as commercial ammo becomes in demand along with shortages so will compoments that are needed for reloading. If you plan well and stock up on components when they are available and on sale you can make high quality ammo much cheaper than buying. Having the ability to be self sufficient is way better than relying on supply of commercially made ammo. We have had 8 years of Dems destroying our country's capability to be self sufficient especially in the manufacturing sector. It has cost us dearly in high prices and availability of everything. Especially here in Hawaii where our anti-gun politicians have further assisted by making it hard to purchase firearms and restricting online buying of ammo.

Look at "Kinetic Group" which is owned by Vista Outdoor----They own ALL of our major ammo manufacturers. The ammo section of their business was just sold off to Czechoslovak Group a foreign owned company who now owns our major ammo companies. Now we should be asking ourselves how our Government could allow a foreign company to buy all of our major ammo makers ??  You can thank Biden's administration and Congress for allowing this to happen. You can also thank Biden for starving us of ammo----here is how Biden did this: Federal and Winchester have been contracted to make all of the ammo for the federal government. In the past these companies would make more ammo than their contract required and then sell the extra production to the civilian market at good pricing because of the volume produced. Biden stopped both Federal and Winchester from selling over run ammo to the private sector. So yes, you can thank a Democrat for that. Biden has been silently engaged in anti-gun politics against all of us gun owners and not making any of it public.

The foreign owners of Vista Outdoor are very rich billionares with a Globalist agenda. If they decide to stop selling us (America) product we will be in very sad shape.   Just take a look at what Vista owns----scopes, camping gear, bikes, ammo, firearm manufacturers, etc.----you should be  concerned.

I think the Hawaiian protesters are just against any project that must be built on land in Hawaii. And I do agree that TMT is a great long term undertaking which will provide jobs and remove the other smaller Telescopes up on the mountain. It's a good clean tradeoff.  Rather see one big one than 5 smaller ones up there. Also, the Governor is really sitting on the fence on this one. He claimed to be Pro science and education and now he is sympathizing with the protesters. His Liberal colors are showing big time.
The Hawaiians should be using their energy to get the Hawaiian home lands that they were promised many moons ago. That is more important than protesting TMT. They should be pushing OHA and the State to get it together and issue out the land they were promised for  1 dollar a yr leases. This would allow Hawaiian families to build their own homes  and have a stable place. It is a shame that many generations have died waiting for their home lands to be issued.

I know it is a liability concern with handloaded ammo. If you have a blow up it could injure adjacent shooters. They should consider giving you additional time on your contract and or bringing some 380 in for you from another dealer if the criteria is you must buy from them and you will be paying retail price anyway. I can see that the business model is to make money on the ammo sales but customer service should be first. I'm just putting in my 2 cents as Hawaii is small and a bad experience spreads fast.

Good to see you got one complete upper. I built mine from discrete parts. Barrel should be stamped   .310 somewhere in it. If you did not get a chrome chamber then I would not shoot the junk laquer coated steel case ammo through it---it sticks when it gets dirty and causes hard extraction which may break your extractor.  I had this happen to me so I only shoot either brass case 7.62X39 or "Silver Bear" or "Golden Bear" Russian ammo which is tin plated or copper plated cases repectively.  I only could only find plastic 10 rd mags for mine.

You can buy once fired 50bmg from  Midway or Brownells.  Are you looking for someone to resize for you ?  As far as I know the 50BMG  ban at Koko Head is still in effect which is ridiculous as it is the only public range right now.

22-250 was based on a 250 Savage Case.  35 Rem is not the same case as a 30-06. If you are talking 35 Whelen that is basically a 30-06 necked up to a 38 cal bullet.  I would not load large rifle cases on a Dillon as the sizing operation is hard. Small rifle cases like 223 or 5.56  or 30 Carbine, 300 Blk can be loaded on a Dillon but to make it easy I would buy carbide dies.

This is a good cause and fight. Have you approached any and all of the firearms shops and gun clubs to support this yet ?  They have the most to loose as this is just another deterrent to a would be new gun purchase. It seems it is just another hoop they want to put law abiding people through because it may be just enough to cause a new gun  purchaser to give up.

Unfortunately we live in a far left controlled State so personal safety is not on our politician's agenda. I would not want to use a knife as this puts you in close proximity to your attacker. You want to keep them at distance.  Forget that pepper spray with the small mouth spray size canister. Go to the hardware store and buy the Wasp and or Yellow Jacket nest  bug spray---the one that shoots 15 to 20 ft. This is way better than pepper spray and gives you some range and 16 ounces. Just shoot for the face and eyes. Also, you can legally carry a 15 inch cresent wrench or a Maglite 4 or 6 cell flashlight which makes a very good legal club. Here in Hawaii there is no Castle Doctrine laws so you will be treated like you are the criminal even if you shoot someone in self defense. The local State government  and law enforcement will not support you. Even if you were justified the criminal's family will hit you with a wrongful death lawsuit. It will not matter whether he was a repeat offender with a long rap sheet.  This is what living in a  "Liberal Progressive" world means.

I load for big caliber handguns and can offer you some safety tips to keep in mind. First with H110 or Win 296 double check the recommended primer (Most of my loads call for Magnum Lrg Pistol Primers). These powders are best loaded to where you do not have any empty space in the case and they require a good hot ignition with a heavy crimp or you could get a squib load  where the powder does not ignite and will push the bullet partially up the barrel.  I like the Lee Factory Crimp Die as this will put a nice tight uniform crimp around the circumference of your 500 even though your bullets do not have a cannelure. The down side is you will need to do a custom order with Lee for this factory crimp die.
Also, for whatever bullets you decide to buy and use do not exceed the manufacturers velocity rating. I load for 500 Linbaugh, 50 AE, 50 Beowulf and 454 Casull and you can have a major issue with an over pressure situation if you use a max load with a bullet that is not designed to take the pressure. What happens is that when the bullet enters the rear of your revolver barrel (The forcing cone)  the bullet will obturate and essentially squash up on the forcing cone (If it is pushed beyond its jacket design limits). This will have the same effect as having an obstructed barrel  and could be catastrophic. Just be careful when you evaluate your load combo and exercise some caution on your selection of components.

When you get up into these large caliber handguns you are in a whole new league. I'm thinking that your 500 S&W has a brake plus it is a large heavy frame so recoil should not be an issue. You should get a long life out of your cases because straight wall pistol cases hardly stretch much. I have some that have  6 loadings on them and still are in good shape.
