Hahahahaaa!! Gzire, classic.

I gotta check this episode out, I haven't been keeping up with the show.

Though I have to say, I don't mind when they have kooks or clueless people.  It would just be downright disheartening if all they showed were the people who are ready for it all.  It's cool seeing people who are in the process of learning like most of us.

Anyone remember the older couple who stashed knives all over the house for home-defense?  Hilarious yet kind of awesome!  :geekdanc:

Preparedness and Survival / Re: Besides MREs... What to store?
« on: February 27, 2013, 11:33:06 AM »
My approach is variety.  I know myself, I get tired of foods if I have to eat them too often.

Mountain House is the best.  It's the brand that every other tries to measure up to.  Wise doesn't come close in taste or shelf life.  They can claim it, but MH has been around for decades and has proof behind their claims.  Go Sports Authority to sample a few, or like Min41 said, amazon has.  I like to get my MH foil pouches from REI.com.  I'm a lifetime member so I get free shipping after $30 or something.  And their prices are fair.  The #10 cans are good to get from Amazon though for the free shipping and prices.

Try some other freeze dried brands, too.  REI stocks some interesting one!

MRE's ain't the best, BUT I think they are ideal for a Bug Out Bag.  If clean water is scarce, you may not be able to cook/rehydrate your freeze dried food.

You can get Thrive Foods out at Be Ready Hawaii now.  They aren't cheap, but it's more variety.  TRY THE STUFF though!  For instance, I got their freeze dried mushrooms because I use them a lot in cooking..  they were pretty gross.  Their milk isn't very good either.  I prefer the LDS (mormon cannery) milk.

Don't forget your herbs and spices.

« on: February 02, 2013, 10:47:41 AM »

unfortunately Gun rights across America's next event isn't until March 13.     I know that some of the LIFE and HRA guys are going though.   We are meeting monday evening to discuss if you would like to attend.

Thanks for the quick response min41!   Okay, I see the events list back in the thread now "Pre-meeting Monday Feb. 4 @ 8pm, Starbucks Airport Trade Center, 550 Paiea St."  I'm gonna check my calendar before I say I'm coming..  Should I notify anyone if I am, or just show up and look for someone in an 2A or HRA t-shirt?

Hey is anyone specific organizing this?

I thought this was another Guns Across America protest, but it's not huh?  Will HRA or LIFE folks be involved or other gun clubs for that matter?

Just to keep things straight...

There is another call to action!!
FRIDAY (yes Friday...gasp, a work day!!) February 8th 10am to noon at the State Capital.
Please please please be there.  This is one of the most important reasons to take the day off work.
Or take a half day since it's just 2 hours of your time to support your ability to keep and use firearms!
This is important.  You can see what large groups of us can do... we killed that instructor liability bill today!
It's good that people here normally don't say anything so that when there is a time to react such as this, it is overwhelming to the representatives because they don't normally see the types of attendance and feedback that we've been submitting thus far.

So let's keep up the pressure and keep this going because our very Rights are at stake!

I'm there!  thanks Duchi, for the confirmation this is happening.  I will be there, probably with my gf, and hopefully my dad and some other family.

Make it a point to get there everybody!  We need to GROW the numbers!

Testimony submitted.

Take the time to read this one.  It's embarrassingly bad.  To think that bills like this are actually considered!  I have no college education and I could write a more sensible, persuasive bill.  SMH :wtf:

Submitted mine a few days ago, my email was blowing up about this..  hope that's an indication to how much opposition there will be!

Came and waved for two hours with the gf.  Someone gave us a couple of flags, that was awesome and very much appreciated!  Due to only learning about this the day before, I didn't have time to prep much.  I think I'll pick up a big flag for the next one though.

I was disappointed with the numbers, we can do better.  We need to have been 10 times as many people at the next one.

How is it we still only have 290 signatures on this??  It's almost embarrassing.

Am I missing something?  Is there any reason a gun owner or just a supporter of the 2nd Amendment wouldn't want to sign this?  Unless they just don't know the current situation, I see none.
