I use 91% isopropyl alcohol that I buy from longs @ $2.99 for 16 oz and I mix it with Castor oil to create case lube, works great.

Reloading / Re: thumler tumbler
« on: December 09, 2015, 12:06:40 AM »
I also have the Thumbler tumbler... it works great and way better than the vibratory models..... reason is if use the vibratory tumbler, you need to do it in an open area and not enclosed area. I was using a vib tumbler and one day I went to my doctors physical and did a blood test. The results were I had high uric acid levels in the blood results, I've never had gout problems before and the doctor didn't know why either. Well the dust particle from pouring the corn or walnut media contains the crud and lead from tumbling from the brass. In the beginning I wasn't using a lead particle mask to filter the air, so I attribute the high uric acid to the lead particles and yes, lead will have that affect. So, the safest way is to wet tumble. Try looking at the Franklin wet tumbler, it seem to look good and it looks like it has a higher RPM.

So why are we as taxpayers paying a ridiculous amount of money to police officers who have not duty to protect the average citizen? What is their primary duty, if it's not to protect citizens from felony type crimes? We might as well abolish the police department and just walk around armed and take matters into our own hands, IMHO.

I just came back from Young Guns at Mapunapuna. Currently, their stock of gun powers are also very limited, I did see IMR 4198 ($37.99 per 1# bottle (3 bottles left showing)) and also HOGDON H4198 ($37.99 per 1# bottle (3 bottles)) they also had HOGDON 50 and I think 4180? and a couple other IMR like IMR 7828SSC and IMR 4007 SSC and VIHTAVUORI powders.

Where to buy MREs?

This is a TO DO for preps that I have not yet ever done.

The Navy Commissary sells MRE's, the only problem is the case is open and you can't see the expiration date or manufacture date. The commissary sells them for $7.50 each.

Whatever happen to opening up additional weapons registration offices on the Windward and Leeward side of the island? I would think that would be a better solution. Wasn't that one of the recommendations from the NRA?

Tumblers can be loud, irritating organisms. Like my trimmer it is placed wherever I find it convenient. I live in a townhouse so when my neighbors are having a karaoke-fest at 12am on a work night, I place it near the wall next to their lil party.

Hahahaha! Good for you!

Reloading / Re: homemade case lube

I use Castor oil that I purchased from "Down to Earth health store" it costs about $10.00 for a 16oz bottle and it mixes very well with 91% alcohol and lubes the case just fine.

Is it necessary to use lemi shine if you don't care much about brass being shiny? Is any benefit to brass being shiny other than aesthetics??

You can replace Lemi Shine with white vinegar, I've used both Lemi Shine and vinegar together or separate. Vinegar will get the brass just as shinny.

Reloading / Problems with the Hornday bullet feeder die
« on: September 02, 2013, 10:56:33 PM »
Recently bought a Hornady bullet feeder die for 9mm, followed all the instructions listed on the Hornady website, brass case flared to the appropriate .385 and all the collets place in order, collet A first and then collet B. When the brass case goes into the die, I heard a slight pop sound as the brass is being removed from the "A" collet, but there's not bullet  >:(. I gone over and over removing the collets, wiping down the interior of the die, so now I'm lost....any suggestions  ???
