I just got an email from Breene with some interesting info:
"I just completed my visit to the shooting range and meeting with the
Director of the Dept. of Parks and Recreation. Our visit was cut
short because construction work began as we were there and because of
EPA regulations regarding contamination, everyone had to leave,
including HPD and Coast Guard personnel who had permits for today.
Workers were in white overalls with their entire bodies and heads
covered.
I was informed that the entire shooting range will be closed for this
short-term solution. The Director said that she hopes it will re-open
in two weeks. I asked her how she is communicating with the shooting
community, and she responded that they have a great website. If she
is not communicating well to keep everyone informed, please let me
know.
Assuming that she is properly informing the shooting community, you
should already know what the short-term plan for remediation is, and
what the long-term solution is that will take many years and much
funding to complete.
When I asked about partnering with the shooting community to have them
operate the entire facility, she said that she is considering that. I
have suggestions as to how to make this work.

So it looks like the entire complex is shut down until the work is completed...hopefully by the end of the month.

I just spoke with Breene...the item IS officially cancelled. The chairperson of that committee stated that he needed more time to find out what's going on. They MAY still accept testimonies, but that's not a sure thing and they will not discuss further due to it not being on the schedule.
I did stress that the public is getting impatient and the ball needs to get rolling or action might be taken against the city, for whatever its worth.

Thanks for all the info regarding 80% receivers. I also wasn't aware that you had to register them after completion...getting an unregistered modern firearm was the whole point

« on: January 10, 2014, 08:50:15 AM »I got a rather quick reply from Brenne Harimoto. Sounds like he might be at least trying to get some answers. I did see that he is trying to run for state legislature, or something like that, in the news or somewhere, I can't remember, so I hope this isn't just an appeasement measure to garner votes. So, please take it with a grain... If he is a supporter of anti gun agendas, take that into consideration when the time comes.
I personally know Breene, so I can confirm that he is pressing for answers (as I continuously ask him for updates). He is running for a seat in the State Senate, but I've been pestering him about our very prohibitive gun laws for a long time now so this is not a new issue to him.
Anyway, I hope this gets resolved ASAP...I have 2 new AR's I need to zero!

Have you ever tried wicking beds? I've found that it almost rivals aquaponics growth rate and is nowhere near as labor intensive to upkeep.
