General Discussion / Re: Handgun Red Dot Study - Sage Dynamics

That's the biggest learning curve is to learn that with the RDS youre looking over the iron sights and also not using them to cowitness. With rifles you have the reference point of your check well and shoulder to put you in the ball park of the RDS window.

That's why I prefer the sig Romeo 1 over the RMR, the window size is much larger on the Romeo 1 which gives you a larger margin of error when learning to pick up the dot.

Although it's not a glock(since like 75-80% of pistol shooters I see shoot glocks), the sig RX models are a good deal.
The 320RX's can be had for about 8 bills locally. I have both the compact and full size rx's have had no issues.

Did move one of the romeo 1s to my 320x5 that I shoot for uspsa carry optics division. Over a 1k rounds and no problems with holding zero or battery life. Did learn that the oem battery sucks and your better off just replacing it from the get go.

I bought this sight pusher on amazon. It's got pretty good reviews, and it worked well for me.

Universal Handgun Sight Pusher Tool for 1911 Sig springfield and others* Best tool on the market for front or rear sights* MADE IN USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016R4DXJW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_MZX6ybA497MEJ

I did it myself since none of the shops locally had the sights I needed. Which is a set from Dawson precision specifically made for the sig dark elite. Which has proprietary dovetail that is deeper then any other sig p series, so to avoid any mix ups and just ordered it directly from Dawson.

I used a micrometer to set I pretty even on the slide and then brought my sight pusher to the range and adjusted it after putting a few 5 round groups.

General Discussion / Re: Rap Back is Coming Monday
« on: December 08, 2016, 02:50:19 PM »
I just applied for a long gun & a pistol permit on monday and only had to pay $42.

I think the reason they listed "registering firearms" on the "who must enroll" list was to get the people who had received/applied for permits prior to monday, Dec 5th and add them also to the rapback program. Once they use the permit to acquire and register a firearm.

Once you pay the "first time fee" of $42 to have yourself enrolled into rap back, your good from then on and that is what I understood coming from the guys behind the window.

I will clarify when I go to register my pistol in 2 weeks and see if I have to $42 to register it.

You can rapid fire, just need to raise your hand and the RSO will clear you to do so.

If youre looking for one, xring has a 9mm 226 legion.

Id compare the legion to an elite model since the mk25 doesn't come with the SRT.

For the higher price you'd definitely have to take in to account the collectibility of the legion series.

The grey finish, the checkering & contouring under the trigger, reduced profile controls and the g10 grips are something you wouldn't get on any other model. The trigger is a grey guns intermediate trigger which has a profile inbetween the standard and short reach trigger.

I meant to say the lower, since it's the only part of a rifle that is serialized and registered. Unless of course you have a FA trigger group that was registered and grandfathered in.

had a brain fart on that. My issued m16a2 had a 3rd burst.

Prolly not FA they are more than likely select fire semi auto and three round burst.

Having a burst function is still considered selective fire. Since you can select a firing mode other than semi-auto.

Most m16s are FA except the m16a4 which has 3 round burst. The Military doesnt like soldiers having the fun switch capability cause its a good way to burn through ammo.

A rifle labeled M16 would be illegal because the ATF classifies them as machine guns, unless they were registered prior to 1986.
