General Discussion / Ed Masaki 1911 value
« on: October 18, 2024, 03:52:05 PM »
Was contemplating selling a few firearms in my collection and came across a Springfield Armory In .45 ACP reworked by Ed Masaki (RIP). Have no idea where to start but it was tastefully  2 tone cerakoted by Craig at Red Letter maybe 4/5 years back. Shoot amazing for me but sad doesnt see more range time. Any info/ ideas appreciated.

So many problems with Hawaiian coming back from mainland, I have written them off after flying 20 plus years with them. Southwest does allow 2 free checked bags and they were helpful getting me my guns and ammo to my destination.

Doug Korenic has several you tube videos that shed more light from a former HPD cops perspective.

Firearms like many other items are worth what someone will pay you for it, I personally try to spend my money on guns that I hold to be keepers. I have ended up with an occasional one that does get sold or traded and have found most members on this site to be fair.

Really like the Red Army variety due to sealed primers and projectiles for long storage. RAS Accuracy has been right there with both Wolf and Tula for me. Have always wanted to try the Golden Tiger, not sure who carries locally though.

Springfield A1, Ed Masaki custom. Had cerakoted by Craig down at Red Letter, awesome work. He added a wilson combat ambi safety for me as well. Best shooter in the collection.

Second Rifle Purchased was an Slr-106 F. Bought Several circle 10 out the gate and cried once. Only had feeding issue with one clear magazine. I can definitely appreciate purists traditional view of specific calibers to certain platforms, as I also bought a 762 version which I love to shoot as well. I think having an ak chambered in 223/556 would be awesome for a shooter who already owns an AR or other carbine that shoots 223/556. I have to say that I really tend to shoot my 223 ak version more as it just doesn't wear me down as 762 does after a full day of training. Ak or AR, both are made in several different calibers, more choices always seemed like a great idea to me.
