found more on HomeAid...

https://www.newsfromthestates.com/article/state-homeless-housing-contractor-failed-report-insider-payments

Chris Dotson had a landscaping business with two dozen clients when the nonprofit run by his husband saw an explosion of growth.

HomeAid Hawaiʻi, which has been awarded the bulk of the no-bid state contracts to build tiny houses for the homeless under an emergency proclamation from the governor, went from having $235,338 in revenue in 2022 to nearly $142 million in 2024.

As HomeAid’s work on the kauhale initiative increased, so did Dotson’s work for the nonprofit run by his husband, Kimo Carvalho.

By the time Dotson and Carvalho filed for divorce earlier this year, HomeAid was Dotson's only client. In a court document, Carvalho said HomeAid was "a major income source" for Dotson — a fact that contradicts previous statements by the nonprofit developer about Dotson's role, which it said involved merely "volunteering his time and offering discount labor."

Dotson's lawyer, Jared Washkowitz, did not respond to requests for comment.

https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2026/10/16/nonprofit-ceo-responds-after-audit-flags-vegas-trip-expenses/

The leader of a nonprofit that was part of a critical audit of a state housing initiative is responding to questions.

It comes as some lawmakers demand answers to what they call questionable spending.

The auditor looked at the Statewide Office on Homelessness and Housing Solutions — and Gov. Josh Green’s Kauhale Initiative, tiny homes built under his emergency proclamations to ease the homeless crisis.

One part of the expansive audit: a $5,200 state reimbursement for a 2024 Vegas trip for a conference to the CEO of HomeAid, contracted to build kauhale.

It included a first-class airline upgrade, charges from the minibar and two $50 sexual intimacy kits — expenses which the auditor said are not allowed

Getting ready for the next chapter/show

How about not spending on homeless incentives and reinvesting or refunding the taxpayers?
I've seen panhandlers beg the whole day on the side of the road while a help wanted sign is also down the street.

Cool!  I'm a Spectrum customer.  Paying almost half what I was for an AT&T unlimited cellular plan plus the cheapest cable internet service available.

I expect this will be great news for Spectrum's future.

as in radio frequency spectrum 800 mhz

When politicians have no solution ( Hawaii housing) they start pointing fingers or create boogeymen...corporations, "rich people" (except them), foreigners (no open borders?)

Its not me its the mayor....

https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2026/10/09/maui-police-chief-fights-paid-leave-with-accusation-against-mayor/

At a news conference Friday afternoon with his attorney, Eric Seitz, Pelletier made a bombshell claim of his own: that Bissen had him sidelined because Bissen has been under criminal investigation since August.

“I will tell you, it’s a felonious crime and the mayor is the suspect,” Pelletier said. He refused to provide any more details and he said he is recused from the investigation, apparently because of the bad blood with the Mayor.

Green: Kauhale Program Costs only $41,000 per bum per year, a 50% improvement over previous system

SA: … Before we took action, an unhoused person was costing taxpayers an average of $82,000 annually in healthcare and safety costs, and that cost has now dropped by more than half for a kauhale resident….

REALLY OBVIOUS QUESTION: “Normally when an executive becomes a distraction, he gets pushed out and replaced. Why isn't that happening here???”
