Legal and Activism / Re: Shipping Firearms Out of State
« on: April 16, 2013, 12:08:05 AM »
If you went to the mainland for say a couple months and wanted to purchase some firearms. How would it work bringing them back home after, registration wise?
copy and pasted  from HPD's website.... "There is no 14-day waiting period for Out-of-State Registration. Once the firearm arrives in the state, you have 3 calendar days (72 Hours) to register it from the date it arrived."
go wait in line and register as out of state, all they ask is what state and who did you aquire it from and then your good to go after they run the serial numbers on the firearms.

Do the bays or ranges have a covered area or benches to shoot from or
is it all in the open no shade no benches?

General Discussion / Re: where can i find a .22lr kit for AR locally?
« on: April 01, 2013, 05:12:00 PM »
If they were in stock, the below prices are what it would cost to order these .22LR conversion kits through Sports Authority (prices include shipping, but not tax). I'm not sure what you would pay for them at local gun shops though. These are the only CMMG conversions available through our distributors:

We do not allow back orders, but the CMMG online store does.

So if it was available from your distributer I could walk into sports authority and
order it? Even with the 20% off coupon?

I think the best and safest thing would be to get CC passed and into law with everone who wants to exersize that right are trained properly and then EVERONE knows what to expect.  An armed society is a polite society.
I agree it needs to get passed. How do you train to CCW everyday without actually
Carrying a weapon.

^^^^ dumbest thing I've read in awhile. Its not what your intention is, it's the publics perception that will get you in trouble or shot. You should just continue wearing your holster in your house and looking in mirror. That way you won't put yourself or the public in danger. Leave the super hero stuff to the guys with the badge and training.

Lol... I don't know what got your panties in a bunch but I never said anything
about being a superhero. Besides, when did CC every make anyone a super hero?
There is only one reason that I would CCW in allowed states and that is to Protec
my family and me if ever needed too and no other reason.
The only intent is to get used to carrying in a concealed manner as best as possible.

With all the Liberal hand wringing about guns I would be afraid to get shot by a over zealious cop.
That would be somthing to worry about, just got to make sure that your
Not printing. Then again I don't know if they would consider a training pistol
wether it be blue or red a toy or what?

General Discussion / Re: How's the line at HPD?
« on: March 27, 2013, 11:15:38 PM »
I think in all the years I have registered either In state or out of state registration,
I don't think they have ever asked me "WHEN" did I acquire or "when" did I arrive
back into Hawaii.
Has anyone else ever been asked?

Hicomp were they still pretty good about collecting ids for permit pickup?
Not while I was there. The only time they asked for permits pickups
Was when they were going to lock the doors and turn everyone outside away.
Even had someone come straight in ask if they were and they said "Not today".

General Discussion / Selling or trading firearm question.
« on: March 02, 2013, 07:21:53 PM »
Here the question ...
If I have a long gun that I just brought back from out of state or just bought locally, I know I have either the
3/5 days or whatever it is to register said long gun and I have a buyer or to trade with... Do I have to register in my name first before I  sell/ trade?
If its still within the 3/5day grace period.

so if a bullet button is good to go and will allow a ar-pistol then you could just   permanently add a beta mag to it....would just be a pain to load.

Thanks for the PM guys, will consider if my plans fall through.

NOT HRA rules... Hawaii state laws.  Specifically, Hawaii Revised Statutes chapter 134.

The affidavit has a specific form that needs to be observed.  I assume that's covered somewhere in state laws on notaries.  When I was president of LIFE (an organization that runs such classes) we had a rogue instructor who thought he could write a better affidavit that the one we'd had lawyers design.  His students were constantly having problems getting permits because the language and format did not match what HPD expected to see.

Yes, you can import a trainer from Nevada to do this.  But why would you?  There are dozens of options here to get the training you need, and all of them are cheaper than a plane ticket.
thanks tom for info... i ment to say HRS not HRA. The person is actually family and will be visiting next month and is up to date on state laws.
We do want to do everything legit and not halfass... but if i can save some friends money then more for their firearm purchase.
