« on: September 17, 2019, 06:50:07 AM »
I was back in the mainland for a while to take care of some business and had some time to make some videos of a couple of my guns.  Here is a video I put together of my 1950s M3A1 Submachine Gun.  I hope you guys enjoy it.

Milsurp Morality:

How do you feel about owning a weapon that probably killed someone in war?

How do you feel about owning a weapon that probably killed someone who is/was our enemy?

How do you feel about owning a weapon that probably killed Americans?

It’s part of the fascinating part of owning war used guns.  I know for a fact that my MG42 and MP44 machine guns killed Americans and have the documentation stating so before the guns were captured.  I also have a Sten that was verified as being a carried war gun, so it probably killed Germans.  My Type 11 Japanese machine gun was also a papered and captured gun in Peleleu, so no doubt it was used to harm others.  The act of harm was bad, but the gun now having a history of that is not a bad thing.  They are tools and the fascinating part about owning them is the fact that they have stories connected to our past.

I'm new to hunting and suppressors.  Do you need to use subsonic ammunition with rifle suppressors or will suppressors still lower the sound sufficiently with standard ammo to prevent hearing damage?

This is an old thread, but I feel like answering this question.

First, I mostly live on Kauai,  it also live in Texas where I collect machine guns and suppressors and am also an FFL/SOT dealer with a business partner.

With rifle rounds, suppressors make standard ammo bearable.  One or two shots with one is a huge difference from without, and you will be fine.  Technically not hearing safe, but it’s way way better.  Use subsonic rounds, and with most suppressors you will now be in the hearing safe range for all day shooting.

With pistol rounds it’s the same.  The are quieter and slower, but super sonic is still. It really hearing safe.  It’s close and fine for a couple shots though.  45acp on the other hand is already subsonic.  It’s laughably quiet with standard ammo.  Same thing with 22 ammo.  Standard ammo shot through a good 22 can, like a dead air mask, is laughably quiet.  Add subsonic ammo to the mix, and holy balls, it AWESOME!

This is cool to see.  I doubt it will pass, but if so, I’ll djust finitely be bringing my license here as I’m sure I have more experience shooting suppressed guns or all types and brands than most on Kauai.  Also, I love to help and teach others!

Thank your pro gun legislatures!!

Just an update.  I ordered one of the blank guns and 1000 rounds of ammo.  I'm flying with the rounds back with me to Kauai in a couple months, then I'll be able to do mag dumps in the valley behind my house.  Looking forward to giving the "full auto smile" to people on this island as well now for a whole lot less money!   :shaka:

Isn't a sonic cleaner kind of a bit too much?  I just use q tips, rags, and gun cleaner/oil on all my pistols, rifles, shotguns, full autos, and even suppressors.  Always been good enough for me, clean, accurate, and goes bang, or am I not doing enough here?

Legal and Activism / Re: Activism help/suggestions for 2019
« on: July 29, 2018, 11:25:31 PM »
I'm planning my next 2a activism meeting for next month and putting a training calender  together and looking for suggestions and classes to offer.

What do you need help with to make you more effective at activism?  Learn about branches of government, writting better testimony, laws, advertising, judicial process, mentorship, etc?

What support do you need for your 2a projects?  Funding, manpower, guidance, etc?

How can I help you to be successful?

I'm all suggestions as well, and I'd like to help out as much as possible.  I have literally no idea how to get involved with this hobby here and make it better.  How how the hell do you turn back the anti gun mentality from the droves of hippies, homeless, and earth child people that are flooding over here daily though?  That I do not know.

I'll bet there is not bump stock one turned in, or any of the other stuff, and.... I'll bet it never makes the News.
Aloha

I agree.  No one is going to turn them in.  At some point gun owners have to start saying "no".  It's ridiculous here.

Be careful of pepper spray.  You need a permit for it on Kauai.

LOL!  Really?  Wow, we have both.  Oh well.  BS laws anyways.

I live in Texas half the year, and have spent most of my life there before moving back to Kauai recently.  No one follows those signs.  The punishment is a misdemeanor.  Same as a speeding ticket.  It was a recent change to make it less of a crime which is awesome.  Many places there have signs on the doors welcoming people to carry guns and just asking you to shoot properly if you need to use your gun.

Depends on what you mean my "no gun sign". In TX if a business does not want to allow concealed/open carriers they must display Texas Statue 30.06 (no pun intended) for conceal carry, and/or 30.07 for open carry in a conspicuous manner with minimum 1 1/2" tall lettering. Normally they are printed on the doors of the business.

"“PURSUANT TO SECTION 30.06, PENAL
CODE (TRESPASS BY LICENSE
HOLDER WITH A CONCEALED
HANDGUN), A PERSON LICENSED
UNDER SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411,
GOVERNMENT CODE (HANDGUN LICENSING
LAW), MAY NOT ENTER THIS PROPERTY WITH
A CONCEALED HANDGUN” "

"“PURSUANT TO SECTION 30.07, PENAL
CODE (TRESPASS BY LICENSE
HOLDER WITH AN OPENLY CARRIED
HANDGUN), A PERSON LICENSED
UNDER SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411,
GOVERNMENT CODE (HANDGUN LICENSING
LAW), MAY NOT ENTER THIS PROPERTY WITH
A HANDGUN THAT IS CARRIED OPENLY”

The little gun-buster sticker(alone) on a door doesn't count.

That is so cool.  Wish you could make tons more, could sell it for a fundraiser.

Yea, now that they are no longer available, I really wish I would have bought more of these!

A while back I picked up a bunch of crushed M16 receivers.  The joke with my friends was that I liked my Colt M16 A1 so much, that I wanted more than one, but this was all I could get.  LOL.

Anyways, I finally got around to doing what I wanted to do with them.  Dremel, paint to highlight the writing and "age" them, time, patience, and this is the end result!  Took about an hour per dog tag.  I know they are just a freaking key chain now, which sucks ass, but it is better than them completely being gone forever.  Kind of cool too since it's a piece of an actual machine gun.  Just something fun, and I really like how they turned out.  What do you guys think?

Open carry for civilians is retarded though and purely for show.  I remember when open carry passed in Texas, we all still conceal carry.  The point is for someone not to know you are armed.  The only people open carrying there now...........well.......when you see them, they are usually interesting.

Regardless, this is great news.  I hope we see some progress on this.  Any way that us regular citizens can get involved with this?

Yes it's your right damn it!  Join most of the rest of the country already.  I'm glad to finally hear a slight hope for actual good gun laws in Hawaii.
