General Discussion / Re: Per Logan 2/22/23
« on: March 15, 2023, 06:51:37 AM »
Laws pass April/May effective immediately. Outter islands implement immediately. Oahu maybe will go back through chief rules process bc they want to waste time. All currently completed applications will be void because new written tests will require testing on Sensitive Places. All marksmanship tests will expired and not grandfathered in.

Next year CC will use Kokohead fiasco to heavily regulate outdoor ranges and make outdoor ranges on private property impossible to maintain. This this will leave indoor ranges as only option to qualify.  Then the legislature with police chiefs will revamp marksmanship test to include 4 shots at 30 + yards. This will ensure noone can qualify at indoor ranges.

At that point, I will be looking for investors for my Bunny Ranch, Sema Car Show, Luau Package full service Hawaii CCW qualification business in Vegas.   Bang Bang and Away We Go (copywrite/trademark). Anyways, we should be really talking about type 2 holsters.

Going be more awesome when the AGs subpoena usernames and email addresses on this site.

I said it before and I will say it again, Logan is purposely slow rolling this as he did with the chiefs rules. My predictions as follows:

Anyone who applies for a CCW in Honolulu county as of last week is wasting their time because the state and legislature controls implementation of CCW requirements and those new requirements will become law in May/June of 2023. The anti CCW bills have made it through all the committees and will become law. This will likely require new chief rules on Oahu and other counties will follow new state ccw requirements.

People with existing ccw permits will be voided (maybe ex post facto issue) or approved permits will be kept to a minimum, which is why they are slow rolling the process. Most people processing now will get a letter in June saying new laws please comply and apply in future

Kokohead will reopen after legislature moves for final votes to avoid  large opposition to ccw restrictions.

To do: 92F request for Chiefs calendars and meetings and any agenda items, as well as emails related to CCW discussions with subordinates, Mayors, Legislators. Then 92F regarding timing and closure of kokohead. This was all a plan in place for years in the even sup ct dud this.

Sit back and relax, CCW is dead in Hawaii for the next few years as the lawsuits make its way through fed dist ct, 9th circuit panel, 9th circuit en banc and then supreme court. I am not sure California lawsuits will help Hawaii given the sup ct ruling and historical basis analysis. Most stayes have different histories and that maybe a factual distinction sufficient to make a Hawaii or anybstate for thatvmatter analysis unique.

I have said it many times.....Joe is trolling the whole ccw process. Just wait until legislative session starts, its gonna be way worse. Meanwhile, people being stabbed and killed and HPD does not care. Instead good old line tower Joe makes a desperate call for Karen's to report CCW holders. These anonymous calls from ex's and salty former friends will probably be enough PC to search or hink people up, thus creating felons of thin air.  Meanwhile Miske and his corrupt cop friends can have gun fights on the side of the road with zero reprecussions. Good luck brave souls who decide to move forward legally carrying their guns. How bout them Type II holsters?

I don't think this is true. Do you have a reference? Federal law enforcement officers may not CCW when not on official duty, but they certainly have arrest powers. People think that sheriffs cannot pull you over if you're on C&C property, but this is a myth. I'm thinking you're confusing LEOSA with something else?

Sheriffs, DLNR, and AG Agents have state wide police power they do not need peace officer status. Local PDs can generally go to outter islands armed if on official duty and cleared by island Chief or to assist. This used to be whenntheybattended meetings or did recruitment trips, but most recently you seen this with HPD on Mauna Kea. The local prosecutors offices also general have the ability to deputize federal law enforcement officers to work with prosecution investigators. This is not too common. Other than that, Feds are not afforded peace officer status in Hawaii (couple kooky provisions allow CBP very limited peace officer status under very specific circumstances) Feds can carry pretty much anywhere except state and fed courts. Fed agencies generally have agents register their personal weapons (usually pistols) as agency weapons so even personal weapons are considered service weapons when shtf and they smoke someone. Feds have no peace officer authority to enforce HRS, but generally can intervene if they observe a felony. But they cant be blue lighting people up for speeding and stuff like in the mainland. Probably pull up 20 articles on peace officer status in Hawaii if you search.

It’s the “defund the police” people

They want to replace local law enforcement with federal troops controlled by the WEF

You have to wonder when local cops are finally going to figure out they are being set up to fail

Hawaii will never allow feds to usurp local authority. In fact, Hawaii is one of a few states that does not afford peace officer status to federal law enforcement. This is why feds can never pull you over for traffic stops on state and city roads. Some feds donhave ticketing power  on fed lands like Haleakala, the airport, and some parks, as well as military property. This forces feds tonwork with local agencies instead of doing traffic stops unrelated to a federal crime. Hawaii wants more local police policing and trust me HPD will be ordered to dirty everyone up if CCW is ever granted.

The officers that I have talked to all are concerned about the closing of the range. The HPD indoor range is not enough for all of our officers to train, also the difference in drills and situations that can be practiced make the outdoor range a necessity for them.

Just so I am clear, none of this is on HPD officers. This is command staff and quid pro quo politics as usual. The Chief has to do bidding of Legislature. Just look at huge carrot Rhoades and Lee are dangling - allowing PD's to collect money directly from ticket revenue.  The MIA City Council will step in to back up CCW restrictions because they would love HPD to get an influx of funds directly from ticket revenue.

This would free up City funds to pay chronies and build more dog parks. The recession is here and property sales and values are falling off a cliff because of high interest rates property values will be stagnant. This means less property tax revenue for the City. Everyone here should take time to read both the StateExecutive Biennium Budget for 2021-2023 and the City Budget for 2023.

Ige is stalling Stadium Development because he was begged to do so by developers......materials costs and interest rates are too high. People will not be able to afford the units. Developers are having a hard time selling current new development inventory. Construction workers will work on current projects, but likely there will be some stagnation and they mightbe laid off when current projects peter out. Residential housing will be first to recover, then the new governor will likely move forward with stadium plan and slow roll it.
If the Japanese visitors do not return soon, we will be screwed. Residents who are retired and or on fixed income should be okay if they are homeowners. Renters might be jammed up.

Politicians wanna keep ignoring the Constitution need to be held accountable on all these other issues.

Everyone is being trolled. This lead and environmental damage argument will be used to put an end to private outdoor ranges in the name of safety. Only the Feds, State and County will have enough money for lead remediation. Also, HPD does have access to an indoor range, so they will not.lose any training time.

Want to get the state and city's attention. Start reserving party sites at Ala Moana Park and run shooting drills (with no guns or alcohol of course). 200 people willing to take over spots at the park running drills using finger and going "pew pew" wil get some attention.all these closures of the range are to fragment gun enthusiestsnamd prevent them from meeting and communicating in person.

On the way to the event take photos of every hazardous condition the state and city are neglecting and submit that to your legislators.

Ok, lets talk about Type 2 Holsters....break!

Where did you get your info regarding RSOs lead exposure came from collecting lead and casting?

Reliable witnesses who are close to the matter, but wish to remain anonymous as they fear reprisal.

The antis are crying about lead poisoning of employees, which is unlikely the result of their normal RSO duties and instead attributed to the scrounging of lead from berms and the boiling of lead and casting of bullets that happens regularly at the range. But the whacko residents who purchased property knowing full well it was within ear shot of a gun range will bitch about everything. But yah, lets go fund another dog park in Hawaii Kai.

Its ok, tons of Canadians are buying up land and moving to Hawaii, where they will have to worry about Type 2 holsters, but will have gun rights nontheless.

The city follows up pretty regularly with my submissions. I have not been blocked yet. The App allows you to add photos of the issue you are reporting. The only feel good thing the city is doing is makijg people feel like they have a voice with  the fake meetings for the Chiefs proposed ccw requirements.  People need something to do for the next 8 months while these CCW requirements get sorted out. Ok, back to Type 2 holster convos.

Sign up for the City's 311 app. Report every unsafe thing you cmsee on city streets and sidewalks. We deserve to live in a safe city while we wait for the HPD to finish the bidding of the Mayor, Council and Legislature

The 311 App allows you to take photos of potholes, standing water, broken sidewalks, blocked side walks, over grown brush/trees, vehicle violations and general issues that impact public safety. All of us here are responsible citizens and should be contributing more to help the city achieve its safety goals. The city documents these issues and follows up with the processing of the requests via email.

General Discussion / Re: Lt Gov. Green called us out
« on: October 14, 2022, 06:50:17 AM »
I guess my point is that we are constantly playing catch up and being responsive to the hairbrained ideas of the Hawaii chiefs, gov, and leg. Whereas we should be ousting these legislators via election.

There will be a second round of public comments for HPD that will end up delaying the process again. The Level Ii/Type II holster stuff was bait that they put in the rules to drum up a request for changes. HPD is leading the charge because they actually have chief created rules. Also, it is no conincidence that Rhoades and Lee are trying to give HPD extra $ from citations. This is the carrot to get HPD to do its bidding for CCW. Once the leg or mayor put in place these sensitive place restrictions, HPD is gonna spend tons of time trying to dirty up CCW holders. Child rapists will be set free and CCW holders who crossed 2 feet over and invisible line will be hammered. Everyone knows HPD and the AG office monitors 2ahawaii. I can imagine some semi constitutional version of nypds stop and frisk being used to mess with people.

We have a few more weeks to see how the 2nd Circuit case plays out and probably 6 months to see what ends up happening. 2nd circuit and 9th circuit have same anti 2a playbook. The leg and mayor will be back with more restrictions by then and will use the same process all over again.

Honestly, I would be scared to carry in Hawaii. HPD and Leg will be out to get everyone and I can only imagine that they will make CCW holders obtain insurance. They will find the highest policy limit offered then require something above that to screw people.

So how do you counter? You leverage 2a supporters to be involved and provide other forms of testimony not related to 2a to HPD or the Leg and CC. HPD wants to spend all this time on CCW, what they doing for Kupunas being hurt in home invasion, what they doing about illegal handicap parkers, etc. The Leg, Rhoades, and Lee always run their mouth about CCW but what about poor Keiki being molested and dying in foster care? The mayor has a $12 billion tax pit called rail that should be attacked every day, pot holes the size of minivans all over. Find something you are interested in thay the government is doing. If its not up to snuff or you see gaps, bitch about it via letters and testimony.

People should be more concerned with Rhoades and Lee who are going to let HPD get direct funds via citations to use for HPD investigative purposes. Imagine what those purposes could be .....maybe to set up mini CCW CRU to enforce CCW in sensitive places. But I digress.....lets discuss type 2 holsters.

Hardly any of the opposition even took the time to even read what’s being proposed, or even considered what is lawful or reasonable. They just regurgitating the fear mongering and nonsense being spewed. That one dude was even spouting about how SCOTUS made abortion illegal, and is comparing that to a constitutional protected NATURAL RIGHT….  WTF? This dude has no clue about how this works at all.

What really disgusting is this is not a debate. They need to follow the Constitution and the ruling of the SCOTUS. yet here we are debating with these people about what infringements are “reasonable” when 90% of these rules are ILLEGAL.

No accountability whatsoever for these bureaucrats and politicians. ZERO

Kavanaugh's concurring opinion allows them to put in place restrictions and ccw requirements. They are just following the antigun playbook knowing full well this will stall the process and worst case scenario is the state gets sued and burns another year. This is a stall tactic to ride out the ongoing lawsuits. Hawaii is dreaming of a federal lawsuit because 9th circuit liberal judges will side with Hawaii, then even longer before the issue is settled. Relax, nothing is going to happen any time soon. Spend time voting for and supporting good candidates in the mext election.
17
We need 2a stuff to be heard much faster. Delay is the only play the anti 2a has left and will exploit it to it's max as ET has stated.

2a is not any more special than any other Constitutional challenge. Due process takes time. Thats the game.
18
The Judge in the New York case gave little weight to historical evidence and justification provided by the defense based on territories prior to statehood. Anything HPD, CC's, Mayors, Legislators, or Governor provides as historic context in Hawaii to limit CCW during the Hawaiian Kingdom, Provisional Government, and Territorial eras, is a losing argument. Hawaii better tread lightly because they will not like the outcome if they push the issue and it goes back to the Supreme Ct. We will see how NYs emergency appeal goes. Either way it will probably go En banc. We need another circuit conflict.
19
It is clear at this point the Chief is trolling the citizens to delay the process and dump it on the legislature. The chiefs proposed rules is a master class on passing the buck. In the mean time, the legislature gets to see if ccw restrictions in other states pass muster. Unfortunately or fortunately, the Kavanaugh concurring opinion opened the door to all of this. If you want change, support the opponents of Rhoades, Branco, and Chris Lee in the next elections.
