So my LTC is supposed to expire in July. Seeing how long it takes to get approved, should I retake the CCW class now and submit for renewal?

Are there any rules on submitting an application with a pistol you are already approved for?

Does this include 50cal muzzleloaders? It’s very common for muzzle loaders to be 50 cal

Wonder if that’ll affect the length of the lines?

Oh I see.

Can anyone confirm if they’re still giving out permits for non CCW holders because of the 2 week waiting period?

Anyone can confirm if you need to be in line by closing time or be in the door to get accepted?

Seems like it’s similar to a linear compensator in which it redirects the noise forward instead of muffling.

State law has a pause on some parts of the law.  Which means they cannot enforce it.  Banks, restaurants that serve alcohol, parks, and city/state parking lots that share it with another entity are no longer banned from CCWing.  Also the default ban on commercials properties open to the public is now on pause.

The there's C&C of Honolulu (Oahu) ordinance that banned the above, but too is on pause since the city stated so on their oneoahu.org website.

So long story short, you can now CCW in the above places unless they have a sign that specifically bans it.

thanks!

Is the range open on Friday since it’s Veterans Day observed?

Public sidewalks. Unless they're hosting an event like the Chinese new years block party, Span Festival, etc...

The AG lied when they were asked if this bans everywhere. They said no because you can get permission to carry in certain locations.  THe lawmakers left out the words "default ban" or "automatic ban". But testifiers said it is.

is this stated in SB1230? i feel like it's too vague, i'm probably missing something.

Can someone please explain where you can carry on oahu? is it only sidewalks? how about when they close the street down for events like chinese new years; spam festival, hoolaulea, halowbaloo etc.?

Foodland not that great.  Only go when nomo choice or if in the area.  Still yet they nomo lots of stuff.

Maybe when more people find out it's Foodland nobody will turn their guns in.

I believe it was foodland that posted up one of the first "firearms not allowed" signs...

makes sense the giftcards are for foodland.

What a Terrible article. It’s called concealed carry for a reason

“ Imagine being at a beach or park and seeing someone with a gun on their hip.”

What an idiot for adding that in the article.

General Discussion / Re: Turning in old permit
« on: April 24, 2021, 08:12:54 AM »
I currently have a permit to acquire (long gun) that expires July 24th.  So let's say I happen upon something I like at a GS so I buy it on July 23rd.

How am I going to register it within the time the permit expires?  I never thought the registration people at HPD would expect someone to register within the expiration limits of the permit when registration appointments are hard to get and up to 90 days in advance.

Showing the expired permit to acquire at the time of registration should be enough to show the firearm was purchased legally.  The paperwork from the LGS along with the receipt can be cross checked by the registration guys.

I never came across this scenario since covid.  Last year I bought a rifle but when I applied for the PTA I went ahead and booked an appointment to register about 2 weeks later, just in case.  Turned out I was able to use it otherwise I would have cancelled.

Agreed. Is it not clear or stated anywhere that you are allowed to register a rifle with an expired permit.
