Reloading / Re: Freight forwarder? WTB powder

I would think from Oahu to bi I'd still have to pay an additional hazmat and ocean freight? Unless I bought a car and shipped it in the trunk or something lol

Thanks flapp, I know that loaded cartridges and raw powder fall under different rules for shipping.

Maybe if I just have em jam a bullet into the cap and tape a primer to the bottom of a few 8lbers it's loaded ammo then and can be shipped air freight

People I talked to at Powder valley said it had to go USPS to a freight forwarder then take the ship over.
UPS or FedEx have a different route?

I need some RL26 and RL33 on the BI.

Anyone have some names of freight forwarder who will ship powder? Or any other tricks to get it here?

Or anyone have some?

Air freight acts like gunpowder spontaneously combust, it's less flammable than the jp8 that plane is full of I tell ya...

Yeah it sure would be. The wording of the law is even crazy.
Law enforcement is allowed to own, but their is no exclusion for dealers or manufacturers even, so there is no one to buy from even if you are a LEO 😂😂 good job legislature.

I'm kind of in the same boat.. looking for a place to shoot (for both me and my wife). She doesn't like the 9 or 44 because of recoil, but 22 is fun for her. But since there's no range and we don't have access to private property large enough and legally zoned to allow shooting, we're kind of stuck.
I took the Hunter's Ed class, but don't think that helps with shooting .22 since I don't think that's a legal hunting caliber here.
BTW,  howzit Matt.  I'm also in Keaau.  :shaka:
Well hey hana hit me up I know a place down past pahoa we can plink at that's pretty private. I still got my mainland number but gimme a text if you wanna go out and shoot. 218-830-0906

Will be retiring to the Big Island early 2018. Not real happy about it considering the States terrible gun laws. But my question is to anyone who has made the move from the mainland to the islands. What did you find to be the best way to ship your firearms?I have a fairly substantial collection and need some first hand info.fom people who made the move.Any help with the whole process would be appreciated. Thanks
I just did. Packed em all in an enclosed trailer and shipped the enclosed trailer over along with other household items. You can ship a sealed locked enclosed trailer through mattson, it wasn't very cheap though.

I've read that a hunting permit is required to possess firearms in the hunting areas,

That would be nice to have a range here! What's the legality of target shooting in the hunting areas? I tried a search but didn't find any legal law either way about target shooting responsibly on public lands that are not protected?

Hi everyone!
Just moved to the big island, living in keaau now.
I used to be a 07/02 ffl/sot, I shoot a lot of long range in competition and for fun, and a lot of uspsa.
Don't really know too many folks so seeing if anyone on the big island is into shooting and wants to go out and plink sometime. Not much for ranges or anything haha!

Nice to meet you all!
Matt
