Yep, less qualified people will be offered leadership roles based on diversity, not ability.

No matter how hard you work, or how qualified you are, if you are not the right "color" to complete the rainbow, you are out of luck.

Because you see, these corporations worry more about how they are perceived, than appreciate the value of their most important asset: their rank and file.

Black and white ain’t colors....no sure how it goes but if memory serves me correctly white is a combination of all colors, black is lack thereof.....

Sunday had a buncha mainland Haoles who were clueless, a little spooky, and pretty dumb. The ROs were on it, and even babysat one, who was a little bit hopeless. But as a born & raised Local Haole those MFers were making me shamed of my species.

There’s a plane going East every day!

Not that I need any cuz I’m well stocked but went back there to get some paper towels and there was bottled water where the TP normally is. Guess they finally ran out. Anyone notice if the other locations have the same situation? :D

“ Senate Bill 3054 SD 2 requires individuals to provide notice of permanent removal of a firearm outside the state with the registering county within five days.”

They can kiss my ass! If I decide to leave this rock and take/ship my guns to a “free state” It’s none of their business......

General Discussion / Re: FFL to get my gun out of HPD
« on: July 02, 2020, 05:30:35 PM »
I get that it's easier for the FFL to transfer the firearm.  What I was asking if the FFL can even claim the property from HPD, or what was needed in order to do so.  I was more thinking along the lines of if someone had to turn in a firearm because of a TRO.  That I wouldn't think that an FFL can just show up and claim another person's firearm.
power of attorney?

Man that sucks. Does the paper work go to random docs in the system?  That have no personal relationship with their patients? I'm fortunate that even though I have Kaiser my doc doesn't work in a Kaiser clinic and he's been my doc since I was out of pediatrics (over 20yrs)
when I go to renew my long gun permit I tell them that I don’t have a doctor at Straub and it comes back approved....

Long story short, HPD has my gun and they wouldn't release it back to me because an idiot Dr. from Straub wouldn't sign off, like so many other doctors that work for Straub or Kaiser.   I recently moved to Texas and it bothers me that my gun that I paid for and belongs to me is being kept by HPD for absolutely no reason.  Best case scenario, I would like to find a Hawaii FFL to get the gun out and ship it to me or my wife in Texas, but at this point I'd live with an FFL getting the gun out of HPD and transferring it to a friend on Oahu.  I have all the paperwork, and I've confirmed that HPD still has it. Is there someone on island willing to help me out?  If so thanks.  I'll give you $200 if you can get it out to me or my wife in TX.

Was the idiot doctor Siuling Kwan? She’s a bitch...

Political Discussion / Re: Trump not a fan of the 1st Amendment?
« on: July 01, 2020, 07:14:06 AM »
I believe he's calling you out for the fact that TRUMP is not voicing an opinion on the 1st Amendment.

Show us in the Constitution where it permits flag burning as "Free Speech."  That's a court's interpretation, not a direct reading of the amendment.

If Trump calls for an amendment to stop flag burning, he has that right -- just like any other citizen.  Do you think he's going to pass an amendment through an EO?

Ditto!

General Discussion / Re: Honolulu PD permit/reg. by appointment only
« on: July 01, 2020, 07:11:10 AM »
from what firearms division told me on the phone, their website is only capable of scheduling out to 3 months and they're all full out to 3 months so nothing past that will even show up on the website
best thing to do is keep checking and see if any cancels.
if this is the case, they need to open registration at other locations, or let the LGS do the registration since its basically verifying that the numbers match, barrel length, etc.
or better yet, no need.  but we all that wont happen anytime soon

Ok that explains it...like your ideas but as we both know they will do nothing that makes sense except defunding the firearms branch  :D

Good comment.  Pretty much what the military was like for me.
I'd add other thing, Knowledge testing and skills demonstration.
Our cops are union people, seniority doesn't always prove
skills needed are there.

Exactly... just look at Ballard..... yup kinda hard to but a perfect example....

If only we had a Police Commission whose job it would be to monitor and guide police force policy in directions that improve law enforcement while also weeding out the Cops whose actions involve corruption and abusive force.

oh .... wait.

Never mind.

Ahhh yes, pipe dreams..... :D

Women Shooters / Re: Permit to Acquire - Kaiser won't allow
« on: June 29, 2020, 08:52:21 PM »
I am new to the forum and need assistance. I applied for a permit to purchase a firearm. I was just informed that Kaiser won't clear me and that I need to obtain a Medical Clearance Letter. I emailed my doctor but I am unsure if they will provide me the letter. Does anyone know of an independent doctor or psychiatrist to clear me in case my doctor won't give me a letter? This is my first firearm purchase and I already bought a rifle, so I need to make this happen. I knew I should have waited for the permit, but I was so excited. Any advice to me will help. Thanks.

You’ll have to make an appointment with HPD complete the permitting paperwork. On the medical clearance papers list Kaiser and your doctors name/phone number which will probably be Kaiser as well. Pay for your Rap back check, have you photo taken and you’re done for the time being. Kaiser will not do anything to approve but if HPD does not receive any word from Kaiser, they will assume everything is ok and you’ll pickup your permit on the day they tell you it will be ready. This same thing happened to me when they refused but I still got my permit to acquire many times over. Good luck, you should be good to go....
