Off Topic / No TP at Costco Waipio
« on: July 02, 2020, 08:32:10 PM »
Not that I need any cuz I’m well stocked but went back there to get some paper towels and there was bottled water where the TP normally is. Guess they finally ran out. Anyone notice if the other locations have the same situation? :D

Off Topic / Done did it again...

Bought me a Rossi RB 22m. I need another gun like I need a hole in the head but what the heck. Ok I know it’s a cheap rifle but it got really good reviews. Picked it up today from J Hara store today, total delivered $178. My appointment to register it is 6/4!
Mounted a Tasco 2.5-10x42 that I bought new a few years back. My friend and I went waaay back in the hills by Helemano and had a blast fest. Pistols, the Rossi and a 54 cal smoke pole. Threw some cans way down the hill and the Rossi nailed them each time. Lots of fun!
Must admit I feel better! :D

Reloading / Lyman Gen6 Powder Dispenser
« on: August 17, 2019, 10:06:21 PM »
P.O.S. Less than two years old, used maybe 20 times and it crapped out. This is the second one in three years. First one crapped out while still under warranty. Had a hassle with Lyman on the first one. Called them on 8/15 and told them the display is going crazy. Got the “well you must be doing something wrong or you caused the problem yadda yadda yadda but they said send it back, they’ll pay but the mother board is probably bad and will cost me about $150 plus return shipping. WTF? A new one costs $209 on Amazon with free shipping but I said Ok and they emailed the shipping label. Took a sledge to it, packed in a plastic bag and shipped it back on Friday with a short note telling them where they can stick it! Heard good things about the Hornady auto charge. Amazon has it for $199+tax but I had $70.00 in cash back so the price is rite. Sorry just venting....

Off Topic / Aloha from Lake Tahoe!
« on: April 11, 2019, 12:10:52 PM »
This place (Nevada side) is great! It’s our fourth trip here In a little over a year. We’ve been looking at homes in Genoa, Gardnerville,  and the suburbs of Carson City. Really like what we see and are in the final decision stages of pulling up roots and moving to a more “gun friendly” state. Our oldest daughter is only 2 1/2 hours away so that’s nice. Love Lake Tahoe area. Great fishing so a boat will be a must. Tax free state and a new house, gated,  2000sq foot under the roof with a half acre of property runs $250K, full acre $295K. We are leaning towards Genoa though cause it’s in the foothills and is a really nice town. Really excited about the prospect of moving there. Hawaii is nice but politically sucks.

General Discussion / My doctor pissed me off royal!
« on: February 20, 2019, 01:28:18 PM »
Ok I’m with Straub. Went to HPD this morning to apply for a handgun permit. Listed Straub and my doctors name. Gave my physician a heads up that she might see something coming across her desk concerning the new request(she is familiar with the procedure and has sent the requested letter to HPD three times before so she can’t claim ignorance). Got a call from her later on this morning and was told she no longer can do this for me because of her “personnel beliefs and convictions” and went on to say that it was nothing personal blah blah blah. Tried to talk to her but she was adamant that she will not do it. Was also told she would send the request to Straub medical records. I’ve been with her since 2004 and she knew of my hobby and actually asked about shooting and seemed interested. Now this bullshit! Was told that if I didn’t like it I can always change physicians but warned me that ALL Straub doctors feel the same way about firearms, blah blah blah. As a result I’ve dumped her as my provider and have made an appointment with another primary care doctor. I’m not worried about HPD turning me down for a permit because she refuses to cooperate. My thought is the medical records department will just review my records and pass along the results to HPD. Still pisses me off..... Rant off!  :shaka: >:(

Reloading / KMS Squared Press Lighting Kit
« on: February 05, 2019, 02:16:33 PM »
Just installed the KMS UFO 550 light kit on my RL550. Cost me $29.99 Direct from KMS with free shipping! Ordered on 1/31 and it arrived yesterday. Although KMS states it can be mounted without unmounting the press I opted to unmourned it and installation was a breeze. Directions were simple, nice quality parts and clear directions. Took me about 45 minutes to finish everything, remount the press and tidy things up. Was pleasantly surprised how well it lit up the press from all angles. KMS makes light kits for most brands of presses as well. Here is the link:

I’ve provided some pictures of the completed project. My apologies though, I failed photography 101!  ;)
