Any of you remember the thunderbirds series?
I used to watch that. I don't remember if it was on before or after Checkers and Pogo.

Was yours completed or still in a 80% form?
Only the holes were drilled. A friend also registered a couple this week with the holes drilled.

I registered a couple of Poly 80 handgun frames earlier this week with my rifle permit. My made up serial numbers used four letters with my initials and three numbers. I try to make it easy for HPD. They treat me well.

I remember my mom buying me clothes from The Ritz, Liberty House, Kramers, Pennys (don't remember the JC) and Sears. I remember buying tropical fish from Birdland. I still have 22LR ammo from Honsport.

It's a place where when you look in the store there is nobody there.  Maybe one.  Lucky 2.  The sales clerks are dressed like they are going to a Royal Wedding.  Even the security guard wears a suit.
I remember the shops on the top floor above the center stage being like that.

And the only places that are crowded is the Apple Store, Macy's, and the food courts.
That figures, I need to go to the Apple Store. I haven't been to Kahala Mall for several years. What's it like?  ;D

Three weeks ago I registered a Polymer 80 with the holes drilled (after being asked by three different persons if I drilled the holes myself). I asked the officers if I can register the Poly 80 with no work done and they said no, it's not considered a firearm and you can't register a non firearm.

Off Topic / Re: Chinese Roast Pork - Discuss
« on: September 14, 2020, 08:32:12 PM »
A million years ago when I used to work at Foodland my co-workers and I would go to the Chinese restaurant across the street on our lunch break.

The back delivery entrance faced us as we approached the restaurant and the owners let us pass through this entrance on our way to the dining area.

We actually pass through the heart of the kitchen and more often than not as we passed through we would see a raw butchered cow or hog half laying on the concrete floor.

The concrete floor was black with years of grease, grime, and of course, foot traffic.  And no, there was no cardboard barrier or linen cloth to protect the meat.

But funny, it never stopped us from visiting again.  We were young, broke, and the food was plentiful, cheap, and ono.
Almost a million years ago I had to do some welding in the kitchen of a Chinese restaurant in Aiea. I went in the morning before they opened for lunch. There was defrosting meat on the counter covered with dead bugs. When I was done, the lady there asked me if I wanted lunch . . . I said sure.

Are we supposed to be discussing Chinese Roast Pork?  :stopjack:

Ya.  Discussed the conditions of typical Chinese restaurants when growing up with buddies.  What's behind the curtain in local Chinese and Korean is pretty  :o
Back when there was Patti's Chinese Kitchen in Ala Moana Shopping Center, we were forbidden to go there by our friend's mom because she worked in the kitchen.

Legal and Activism / Re: AR Stripped Lower Registration: Other or Pistol
« on: September 11, 2020, 08:03:19 PM »
If you want to register a stripped AR lower as a pistol frame with HPD, you have to go through the same process as if you are acquiring a handgun. Purchase lower but do not take possession, apply for handgun permit to acquire, two week wait, pick up permit to acquire, acquire lower and register. The gun shop / FFL may not know the correct procedure. At one time you had to permanently attach the magazine before HPD would register. If not done to HPD's satisfaction, they would confiscate the lower. When I checked late last year it was not necessary to attach a magazine to register.

Hello, new member here. Posted an acquisition question in “Legal and activism” if anyone has some advice. Thank you.
Welcome to the forum AA  :shaka:, advice you will receive . . . don't bring Automatic firearms to Hawaii ;D
However when they discover that i had received the firearm in March—before i even had a permit, also that the registration is 5 months late, will they charge me with a possible fine and misdemeanor?
While there is no excuse for ignorance of the laws, I know on Oahu, HPD Firearms is pretty forgiving to people trying to do the right thing even if it's five months late. I don't think you should worry.
General Discussion / Re: OGC Tactical FFL transfer

If you are referring OGC's policy, best to ask OGC. I have, however, used OGC for FFL transfers and have never filled out any form. They were already on the vendors list of FFLs.
Thanks!  I lucked out and caught an appointment tomorrow

Anyone know what time HPD usually posts up appointments 90 days out?
From my experience on the weekends, they release one appointment every 10 minutes on the :00, :10, :20, :30 etc... for 90ish days in the future. I believe if someone takes a 30 minute slot, no appointment released for 30 minutes. I have only looked on weekends, can't look during the week because of work.
