Parts came in for my 300 blk, pistol gas, 14.5 barrel project



Drilled, pinned, TIG welded barrel before assembly.  Still learning how to weld, but came out ok.  Pic of weld prior to touch up.



My newest toy now range ready.  Thanks again to D.mathys for hooking me up with pivot / takedown pins so I could finish my lower  :shaka:

I have the troy alpha, MI quad rail, and Sampson evo. I like that the troy and evo use the stock barrel nut and both are very light. On a budget, I'd say evo cuz they are cheaper, super easy install, and come with 3 rail sections.

So I went ahead and tried a diy camo paint job on my HTA 10/22.  The HTA was originally tan.  Factory camo'd digital woodland tavor for comparison (which imho is a little dark).  Overall I think it came out pretty good. Looks better in person.  Camo color/contrast doesn't seem to transfer to the computer screen that well. Think I'm gonna try it on my 300blk Ar next, but add a little more brown.

I haven't messed with GD 147's but I do have a little load data on 147 XTP's that I worked up with HP38 that was subsonic out of a 4" M&P and a 5" RIA 1911.

Hey guys,

I'm gonna start messing around with Tig / stick welding just for fun.  Where is the best / cheapest place on Oahu for welding suplies?  I know I can get most stuff online, but where do you guys go for your argon? 

Any issues buying a used tank off CL or private seller?

Can I lease a tank? Is it better to buy my own?

What size for small garage hobby stuff? 

Cost?. 

I don't have any welding background, so any info is appreciated.  Thanks  :shaka:

Got a new little pelican case to transport my CCW when I go to the mainland.  Wasn't sure it would fit before I bought it, but it all worked out.

D Batt for size comparison.



This was my first go at pick and pluck foam.  Came out ok I guess. Fit my G42, extra mag, and box of SD ammo  :thumbsup:

Lee dies.  I use a case gauge to set the sizing and have no issues in any of my semi or bolt 308's

I've reloaded them out of my ptr91.  No probs.  I put the port buffer on mine to keep the brass from being damaged.  I only dry tumble my brass so those cases always have the fluted chamber tattoo.  Other than that, they size, load, and fire like any other case in my experience.
