I just got my order today and I'm pretty sure I put mine in after you did....??  One thing, copes likes to use styrofoam peanuts for packing and tosses the mags right in.  Not the best packing (styrofoam may get in the mag), but none were damaged and looked new.

I would say about 10 days or so. That aren't really slow, but they aren't midway either.

Well since the replies have wandered away from the original question, I'd definitely want a two handed blade of some type to do some head rolling. Cold steels katana machete or kukri for example.

^^^You've got.........8-ish rounds with the shotgun?  30 with an AR mag, more if you got one of those new 60 & 90 round mags.  It's significantly faster to reload an AR than it is to fully load a shotgun.

Shotgun and lever actions are good because the magazines are self contained and aren't going to get lost/dropped like an AR, but I'm still a believer that a detachable magazine rifle is the way to go.

Another "good to have both" situation.  I agree with the value of a shotgun though.  Easy to reload on the move vs slinging your AR and loading a mag with loose rounds while running (cuz the zombies may not give you time to stop and reload all of your mags)....... Zombieland rule #1 - Cardio

If you dump/loose/damage your mag(s) you now have a very slow single shot.  You will always have 8 or so with a shotgun.

I'd keep a couple of 30 cals around for both zombies and other than zombie threats.  Can't trust some living without zombies, how will it be with zombies?

here it goes:

1. M1 Carbine - because its on the "Zombie survival guide" cover and I LOVE them  ;D
2. Sawed off pump 870 - because legality of it wont matter when zombies are running around.
3. AK
4. glock 9mm w/ 33 rounders
5. ruger 10/22 (mainly for hunting food quietly)
6. MP5
7. FAL Para congo
8. M14 w/ sage

silencers would be ideal if possible.  wouldn't mind a crossbow too........

+1 on ballistol. It is the best product I have used to protect both metal and leather.

Never heard of it. Where do you guys buy it? I've been using break free as well with no rusting, but am willing to try something new.

Besides, everyone knows that only genuine USGI magazines will function properly in a US battle carbine!

+1
I have used 10rd mags that functioned (and many that have sucked) but I wouldn't trust my life on em.  I can't see drilling/riveting mags that are pretty much collectors items either.  Must be another way....

"    Needs are pretty much to have a semi-auto rifle handy, maybe even for SD or something along those lines.  Dont plan to shoot past 100yrds(i think). anything farther then that i plan to get a .308 bolt action or something."

That's got AK all over it.

If you are gonna keep it iron sights, don't care if your shot groups can't be covered with a coin, have no plans on reloading, buy a AK and a case of steel cased Russian ammo and be happy.

My advice (IMHO) get a AK with magazine dimples, they usually have less mag wobble than receivers with plates tack welded to the inside (and cheaper than milled).  Two, check to make sure the front sight is straight and not leaning one side or the other (if you can eyeball that it's crooked, it's too much)

I haven't played with any of the US made versions, but I can say my stamped Polish kit (not century "US milled" but call it polish) and romy G have been great.

Oh and watch out for wood stocked yugo m70B1's. They are built solid, but the stock shape wacks you right in the cheek. If you ever shoot one you'll know what I mean. I sold mine because of that. I wouldn't mind an under folder though...

I've been thinking of loading 30 carb too but have way to much cmp Remington to burn through.  Aguila after that.

Anyone use wolf in their carbine? As good as anything else?

That sux. But there has got to be at least one ar or ak pistol on island too right? Maybe not.....

Hey pit, let me know when you're going again. I'd be down to go.

Will do. May be a little while though.

Anyone know how much membership is?  And when Ogc is supposed to open their range?  Don't want to drop for membership at magnum if Ogc opens soon after with better pricing.

South park......lol!

It was
15 per person
20 bucks for 50rds fmj 9mm
30 bucks 50rd fmj 45
1.50 per target
Expensive and not what I'd do often, but soooo worth it every once in a while  ;D

Just wish they had zombie targets. Next time I'll bring my own.

You can also shoot closer than 25yds and rapid fire if you want. So I did....alot...

Is it official that m1 carbine mags fall into the 10 rd rule? I thought it fell into the same grey area as ar and ak mags?

Hey guys,

I have a Eddystone 1917 that needs a new barrel.  Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith that has experience doing barrel swaps and finish reaming?  I know any gunsmith should know how to do this, my only concern is that Eddystone barrels are notoriously hard to remove.  Many have said that relief cuts should be made to prevent twisting of the reciever.

Or should I just mail this out to DGR?

I was thinking of keeping my $$ here as well as save some on shipping.
