Normally don't post these anymore since you can pretty much can find them everywhere but this one is better than the normal $10 off $100 coupon. Double dipping allowed at Brownells so you can combine with existing sale prices.

it says Website, mobile, and kiosk check-in are not available when traveling with a firearm or ammunition.
you go to the concierge desk to fill out paperwork
they told me to wait 5 minutes for TSA to call my name if they want to look at my luggage.  after 5 minutes if i dont hear my name over the loud speaker, then i proceed to TSA checkpoint

I dont remember placing any tag with Hawaiian, I think they placed the tag themselves.
When you check in at the airport, let a Hawaiian Airlines agent know that you are checking a firearm or ammunition. After inspection, a special tag will be placed on your item. Your signature will also be required. Website, mobile, and kiosk check-in are not available when traveling with a firearm or ammunition.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up.  I remember one agent near the kiosks kept waiving me over and I told them that I had to check a firearm.  They told me it doesn't matter and proceeded to punch buttons like a madman and somehow it works then they told me to go see the desk agent to fill out the declaration form.   ???

The firearm tag goes inside the case

Agreed on that, the orange declaration form (card) goes in the case or outside the case or wherever the agent tells us.  Hawaiian also puts an external tag to indicate that the bag has a firearm inside.  It doesn't say firearm but it seems to be Hawaiian Airlines "code" for firearm.  it was some kind of red or orange sticker, similar to the agriculture inspection sticker that goes on the handle of the luggage.

Just some stuff that I know of:

- So far, Hawaiian has made it a pretty smooth experience.
- Not a Hawaiian rule but it surprised me when I heard about it. You need a lock for each lockable hole.  If there are four holes for locks, you need to have 4 locks.
- TSA doesn't have a rule against placing ammo in the same case as the firearm but Hawaiian does, technically.  "Ammunition must be packed separate and apart from any firearm unless the firearm's case has a designated storage space for ammunition that secures it and protects it from shock and movement".  I usually put it in my gun case and they have never raised an issue.  So technically, you can and should have it in your regular checked luggage, but not in the gun case, as long as it is in the original box and reasonably secured from damage.  I have brought home lots of ammo booty in checked luggage in a heavy cardboard box that was stuffed with towels to keep the ammo from bouncing and they didn't complain.
- I don't think the airline is allowed to mark a bag to indicate that it contains a firearm but Hawaiian always places some kind of special sticker on my checked bag with the firearm that says something unusual like "fragile" or something to indicate a firearm, I forget exactly what the sticker said.  I kind of want to raise an issue but never have.  I am hoping that it makes them aware to not "misplace" my bag...to avoid any imperial entanglements.
- I was told once that I can check in at the kiosk and just indicate somewhere you have a firearm then go to the counter to fill in the paperwork.  I never was able to figure out how to do that so I just head straight to customer service.  Don't know if this annoys them.
- FYI, If you fly on Alaska Airlines, you can bring up to 50 lbs of ammo.  All other airlines including Hawaiian limit you to 11 pounds.

I don't shoot 300 blk but this looks like a good deal if you do.  Usually Proof carbon fiber stuff costs around $700-850.  :o

In stock when i checked at 10:15am.

Also have a Proof carbon fiber 223 in 16" for $699 which is a good price, just not crazy like the 300 blackout deal.

Good summary of a lot of newish information in this video.  Also makes some good points.  As many have already stated, it does seem like there was severely lacking safety protocols on the set.  Live ammo on set, prop gun used after hours with real ammo shows lack of control of the prop, no one checking status of gun, inexperience/negligence.   :wtf:

(Sorry, this video was posted earlier so i deleted it)

My opinion/guesses: Whether Alec should have checked it himself is a good question to come up.  Not sure if that will hold up in court because there may be no legal requirement for the actor to double check a prop gun handed to him by a "qualified" person.  Definitely would have been a life saving practice here.  I question whether most actors would know what to check so it would require actors to get some basic firearm handling training (not prop gun handling, real training like an NRA class) which would be a great thing actually.  Now, if there was no "qualified person" on set, that is a separate issue.  I imagine that sometimes a scene may require the actor to handle a gun in a manner that violates at least two rules so I won't personnally bring that up as a primary cause.  Because of this assumption, they gotta be damn sure it is unloaded.  Maybe there is such a thing as a non-functional prop gun ( ???) that they could swap in and out of the scene and edit at the end but that seems a little impractical.  Again, just guessing.

:shake: I too got a tongue lashing from Sai for uncasing my rifle facing the wrong way and I witnessed an really old man get yelled at for the same reason.  I appreciate it more now than I did then...  I will never, ever forget that lesson so I guess there was a method to his madness.  I did feel really bad for the old guy because that was pretty brutal.

The primary means of enforcement is through retailers. None can sell them so none can get them--unless they go through the illegal black market, which for some reason laws can't seem to affect.  Online retailers?  They can refuse to sell you.

Serialized it? That will fucking take forever.

If you own PMAGS those things have manufacturing date on the side, so if it's made on or after the law was signed, you in deep doodoo.  Hexmags have them too, I think. I don't know about the rest.

Just buy the really old metal STANAG ones. No dates on the older ones.

I can see them restricting the number to every other space, especially on the pistol side.  Ho, going be long lines the first month or two, just like when Obama got elected the the 2nd time or when Daiso opened!

Fingers crossed.

Just wondering if anyone has seen this product anywhere on Oahu.  Brownells and Midway won't ship because of haz-mat issues.  Looking at the barrel cleaners specifically like Patch Out, Tactical Advantage, Accelerator.

Please PM me if you seen them or know how to get them...
