So theyre using AI to track x amount of purchases from random websites on the entire web.

Damn u snowden for developing the program.

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

That's not how it works.

They gather EVERYTHING that might be useful information.  Then, when they have a reason to investigate someone, they don't need to worry about only getting information from that point forward,

It's like, if Cops get a warrant to tap your phones, intercept your cell, and monitor your emails, they can only obtain what's available to them after the warrant.  Any calls you made or emails you sent and deleted prior to the warrant are unable to be included in the data collection.

With systems such as Carnivore, the information is gathered but not accessed unless a court order is issued.  Now they can look back at info that existed prior to the warrant and use that against you as well.

Of course, there's also that treasure trove of data we call Purchase History, Rental History and so on that has what you bought, watched, listened to and ordered for others going back years -- no NSA software required.

Like he said, there is possibly a big "sting" going on, and he just hit that list with his online purchase activity.

Harris:  "Young people in the age group 18-24 are stupid!"

Also Harris:  "We need to let young people as young as 16 vote."

They forgot to feed you again, didn't they.

If I am the hammer, then you must be the vacuum cleaner that is stuck in permanent reverse.  You constantly vomit out the nasty stuff that should be kept in.

You must have been a comedian in a former life, because you sure aren't very funny in this one!    :geekdanc:

Reloading / Re: Hodgdon powder supply
« on: Today at 01:17:56 PM »
There is this little LGS here that doesn’t normally stock a lot of reloading supplies. I was surprised when I saw a new shipment of CCI primers of all sizes! So I thought I would buy a couple of boxes of LPP which I could use and when I asked the price, are you ready for this, they wanted $79.95 for a box of 1,000!!!!! I bought 2 used ammo boxes for $2 and walked out. I probably will never make a big purchase there.

That's probably why they decided to stock the primers:  massive profit margin!

I own a VW diesel, I'd like to know how this guy
stays so clean?
I'm in the market for a Diesel truck, but I'm waiting for the right price.
Here on the BI they are very prized and expensive.

Make no error, everything you do on the internet
is watched and stored.  Even your Snail mail is
recorded and tested.
I know exactly what mail has been sent to me.
Drives my wife nuts when I tell her the electric bill
is at the post office.( we don't get direct mail delivery,
as we are too rural)

Apparently people didn't pay attention to the revelations made public by a Hawaii-based NSA computer guy named Edward Snowden.

Well that didn't take long

Until the convention names the nominees, anything is possible.

If Harris is the Presidential nominee, and Joe the VP, it would satisfy the "He's too old" anti-Biden voters.  It would also effectively allow the Party leaders to bypass the entire Primary process (like they pretty much did with Clinton and Bernie) and simply pick their favorite as the Presidential nominee.

I bet the others who lost in the Primaries will be ROYALLY PISSED if Harris is the nominee after she was one of the earliest drop-outs -- didn't even make it to the Primaries. Only 7 candidates survived to participate in the Primaries.  if the Party is going to choose someone at the last minute -- someone who never made the Primaries -- it'll turn off those who aren't already turned off of the Party after the 2016 debacle.

Old "heels up" Harris is well practiced in servicing older men, as Willie Brown can attest.

Although, in this instance, she'll be the acting President while Sleepy Joe is napping.

A different version of "sleeping her way to the top."

Is it a crime to be sick?

It appears to be a crime to be healthy and to not follow the preventive guidelines set down by Big Brother.

Sick until proven not infected .... well .... not even then.

That picture of them looks like the start of the most awkward hand shake ever hahahaha.

All things serious this one is a head scratcher for me. Why would they pick her? Tulsi nuked her during the primaries and she’s basically a black Hillary Clinton. They can’t be this dumb can they? They must have somethIng up their sleeves.

My guess is they picked her because she's going to be a great fund raiser.  She did really well raising fund for her primary campaign.  Her big downfall is her campaign was run poorly.

She reportedly raised over $2M for Biden's campaign before the VP announcement.  She raised over $22M between 2015 and 2020 for her own campaigning.

They might not win, but they'll sheer as many Dem $heep along the way as they can.

Can't wait for the Presidential and VP national debates to begin.

If Trump loses, it'll be because he felt sorry for Joe and didn't want to appear overly mean.

if he wins, the media will accuse him of just that.

No matter what, the media has already decided who won the upcoming debates.

Off Topic / Re: Ballot status
« on: August 11, 2020, 09:55:39 PM »
Of course, I don't think the information should just be out there for all to see. I would just hope that it is maintained somewhere so it could be checked in the event that a case of fraud needed to be investigated.

Nope.  Not in Hawaii where paper ballots are used.  The paper ballot is the original.  If there's a problem, they will be used to verify the electronic results.

Places that have no paper ballots are at risk of major fraud.  No way to audit what votes were cast compared to what's in the database.

Where do we draw the line though? Imagine for example that we had an ebola outbreak in Hawaii. Ebola, on the low side, has a case fatality rate of 25% up to 90% on the high side.

Would you be ok with relying on the ebola patients and public to self regulate, wearing masks and quarantining as they wish?

Ebola has a much higher mortality rate than the regular flu.

COVID-19 has a lower rate.

The line is somewhere between there.  Common sense will guide us.

« on: August 11, 2020, 09:51:47 PM »
You didn't answer my question though. Should we prevent deployed soldiers and their families from voting since there are all these problems with mail in voting?

The answer is, we continue as we have been:  use ABSENTEE BALLOTS for people who are ..... well .... absent on election day.

Different than 100% mail-in voting from home.

But, you keep spitting out those strawmen!

When I use a word with a subjective nature then yes, I get to decide what it means to me.

Gosh, I could call a pizza tasty and you would reply "WRONG!"

That's 100% subjective.  I can find people who can't stand pizza.  I used to be one -- until college.

We were discussing "significant", which is not subjective in it's definition.

Look it up.

This non-workaround workaround only happens if you leave your Profile Look and Layout on the default settings.  If you change the option to show most recent posts at the top, it'll show the last page first with a partial page at the "end" -- or Page 1.  Until there's another full page of comments, the error will continue.

Just FYI.

That's much less subtle than I expected this early after the VP announcement.

Glad they are effectively running Harris now over Biden.  By the time the convention selects the nominees, Harris may be at the top of the ticket ...
