Anyone painted their rubber butt pad?
« on: July 21, 2014, 09:39:18 PM »
I heard that vinyl spray paint may work on rubber recoil pads. I want to paint my limbsaver from black to coyote. Anyone tried this and how well did it stick? What type of paint did you use?
Google it cause every question is a dumb question.

Best bet would be to use an adhesion promoter prior to painting, but I doubt it will last through heavy use and abuse.

limbsavers are soft and squishy, youd need a lot of flex in the paint surface. even a plastic adhesion promoter would only help so much.
how about plastidip? they make em in camo colors now

I'll try that and see how it works. I hardly will use it as it's for a shotgun and it's only a slip on so I don't mind if it gets messed up. I hope they sell it at Walmart.

Which home depot did you go? I need to hit up a hardware store for something else. I'll check out ace wherever that is.

i went to iwilei.

might want to check out checkers/oreilly autoparts. they have a good selection of spraypaints.

i kinda doubt even ace has the camo plastidip but its worth a phonecall. they do have like ~10 colors though. i bought smoke grey, black and white for some projects.

theres also a professional paint shop that specializes in plastidip paintjobs so maybe you can either have him do it, or possibly order the color you want thru him since hes an authorized painter
