O/U shotguns

Looking to get a nice O/U shotgun for bird hunting. I’ve had my eye open for a Winchester 101 but looks like I’d have to get real real lucky to find one. There’s a benelli 828U at a LGS and I was wondering if anyone had any input on that shotgun? I did some research online and it seems there’s a mixed bag of people having issues with it and some who love it. Also does anyone have recommendations for a nice O/U that they have experience with? Mahalo!

mrgaf is the local expert, or at least who I would reach out to ask

You could also swing by the shotgun side one weekend and chat those folks up.  If Laughlin is around, I am sure he would help.  Be sure to speak up when talking to him, but he's a super nice guy.

The older 101’s had problems with the forends cracking. I have shot a 828u sport it was a pretty nice shooting gun with some nice sporting features though it is not a field gun.I would also be looking into mechanical triggers for a field/hunting o/u gun the browning 725 field/hunter grade is a nice option. Is there a reason for wanting an o/u verse a semi?

I just really like SxS and O\U shotguns. Also feels a little more “sporty” to hunt birds with them. I will check out the browning 725 mahalo!

The 725’s are a great shotgun but can be very pricey. Another Browning that is really nice is the Cynergy. Not too expensive, built like a tank and are very quick pointing. There is also an option to change from ejectors to extractors and back again very easily. I had two of the Cynergy CX’S with 28” barrels (one went to my grandson and the other to his father) They are a little stiff at first but break in real quick.
Hope this helps…. :D
