X95/lwrc/DD experience
« on: May 16, 2016, 09:40:17 AM »
I was lucky enough to get the chance to shoot these 3 rifles.  The Daniel defense m4v11 with key of rail which is DI, the piston driven lwrc, and the x95.

Ammo used was American eagle xm193.

I've been hearing online everyone griping about accuracy, but I also hear it's easy to get consistent shots with this rifle.

The x95 mitigated recoil more than the two ARs. I'm a crappy shooter so can't comment on accuracy as there was only the factory irons on the x95, but standing with 30 seconds left before the buzzer break I was able to easily put 5 rounds on the 100 yard target.  No way I could do that consistently with a standard rifle.  I'm in shape, but not in shooting shape I guess.

Either way, I thought that this is a really neat rifle.

My wallet is going to hurt......

You heard online griping about accuracy of which gun?  Or all of them?

I used to own a DD V5 (12" Omega X rail) and it was pretty darn accurate.  Capable of greater accuracy than I was capable of when I owned it, and probably still so.  Haha.

I've shot the Tavor a bunch of times and I liked it.  It is pricey though.  I've read a lot of complaints about the trigger.  To me, it was ok.  Could it be better?  Sure, but it's not like I would be looking to the Tavor to be a precision gun.

Yeah.  Shooting isn't a cheap hobby.   :(

When my house on the mainland sells I will get an x95 Tavor.  I had the 16" sar Tavor and it was a great platform. Sold it for the move here though.  I have an early ddm4v1 marked Savannah ga.  Got it from Marty Daniel 3 digit serial # when I lived in sac.  Great gun!  Went to church with Marty

My DDM4V1.  Eotech no longer on it.

Sorry. This post is mostly about the x95. I should have clarified that. I've heard griping about the x95 accuracy.

While I've never shot an original tavor, the x95 trigger was fine to me.  Don't see that needing to be changed necessarily.

I couldn't be happier with my DD Rifle.  :shaka:

Cool.  Was just wondering.  You included LWRC in there as well, so that added yet another dimension of discussion of accuracy.  I don't own an LWRC gun, so no direct feedback other than my opinion that they are pricey too!   :(

If you could put 5 rounds on the 100 yard target standing with irons sounds pretty good to me.  In terms of accuracy, when I get a new gun and sight it in, I like to do so with a pretty solid rest so that I can get an idea of accuracy potential.  Meaning eliminating as much shooter error as I can.  While I "know" that the gun is capable of a greater level of accuracy than I am, it's good to see what the gun is capable of.  That way hopefully there's less doubt in the gun. Honestly, it's usually never the gun.   ;D

Looking forward to hearing how you like the Tavor!

My Tavor shot 1.5-2 Moa average.  Great gun for what it is designed for 300 yards and under cqb

Pics of target for proof?

Just kidding.   ;D

I would love to own a Tavor.  There's a couple of people with Tavors that shoot with SRGC.  While they let try here and there, that's just a taste.  There was a show on Israeli guns on The Outdoor Channel and featured the Tavor.  They gave some pretty good insight on the development of the gun and how they teach the Israelis to operate the gun.

Is this a good price for one?

Buy it!

No clue on what's a good price really though, but based on MSRP of $1999, seems like at least a decent price as long as the seller is GTG.  Maybe with the release of the X95, the other versions are dropping in price.  The version in the link that you posted is the version that I've shot.

Actually, this is not something that I want. Don't get me wrong, it is probably the best bullpup type firearm I have ever fired. It is well designed and reliable. It shoots a standard NATO round. I recommended one to my friend who recently purchased one from OGC. He loves it!!! Just not my cup of tea.

I only remember getting an e-mail from Classic Firearms with the discount price. I thought it might be helpful if the price was good. I have dealt with Classic Firearms in the past with a C&R purchase and found them to be a good retailer.
