Just imagine. This is what most Muslims who are just normal people have to deal with all the time. It's not fair to label a third of the earth's population based on the actions of a few maniacs.

There are about 1.8 Billion Muslims in the world, according to Pew Research as of 2015.  It's the fastest growing religion on Earth, and it's the second largest religion behind Christianity.

If only 1% of Muslims are radicalized, that's 18,000,000 Muslims willing to wage Jihad.  Some studies estimate the percentage of Muslims "possibly susceptible to radicalizing" is closer to 15% to 25%.

When people want to hide raw numbers, they use fractions and percentages or comparative numbers.

So, while not "all" Muslims are "maniacs" following the Koran's commandments for Jihad, the vast majority of terrorist attacks in the world are perpetrated by radical Muslims.

Quote
In 2015 four Islamic extremist groups were responsible for 74% of all deaths from terrorism: ISIS, Boko Haram, the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, according to the Global Terrorism Index 2016.

If 18 million people in the world were hardcore terrorists then there would be a 9/11 type incident every week.

The issue with a lot of the "facts" getting thrown around is that fighting terrorism is a huge business and therefore the companies that profit from it and the think tanks they support are have to constantly make the problem seem much worse than it is or their government welfare checks start to dry up. Without a boogie man to scare taxpayers we wouldn't willingly fork over money that would be much better spent on things like repairing critical infrastructure, becoming less dependent on stealing foreign energy reserves, and avoiding other expensive and unnecessary interventions that actually create terrorists.

But try explaining that to Hedbo. Their MO is to attack the powerless to serve powerful interests while hiding behind artistic license. Apparently Red State Americans on the lower end of the economic scale are on the same level as Middle Eastern hell holes now. I can think of no better example of the loss of prestige for the United States. To the elite all the poor are scum, no matter what color their skin is or who they worship.

"Hard core terrorists?"  Who said that (besides you)?

"Radicalized" is the word I used.  That means they BELIEVE in Jihad and the violence of the terrorist groups.  That's not the same as themselves being "hard core terrorists".

The radicals perform many different functions from raising and donating funds, gathering materials, training fighters, and spreading propaganda to recruit the next Boston Bomber or Orlando Nightclub shooter.

Nothing you said negates the facts I posted.

Well for one thing I don't see a lot of facts, at least not backed up by evidence. Those are some pretty sweeping claims you made.

Just because you don't like or accept the facts I shared doesn't make them false.  Facts don't rely on your ability to see them to exist.

Do some research, just like I did.  I even gave you that link a couple of posts back.

I remember when everyone was posting Je Suis Charlie on their Facebook pages and talking about free speech. Where's that love of free speech now? I think generally people like to think of themselves as "good" and "righteous" but when it comes down to it a lot of us are straight up full of shit and just looking for an edge so we can feel superior over people who are different than us.

Nobody here is saying they should not be free to print whatever they want.  But once it's public, we are also free to offer comments and criticisms.  Free speech doesn't mean you're free from consequences.
