My nephew got himself a nice boar (114# dressed) and while he and his dad was gutting his I was able to take a bigger one with bigger tusks (125# dressed) minutes later...  :shaka:

We use no dogs.  Just “block trail” from a blind. Luckily we have a place where hogs always crossing.

Next hunter education is feb 7, I might sign up for it. My buddy already did. Never hunted before, and I have a shotgun that's never shot anything but a clay. Any recommendations for spot and stalk?

I hope you’re going to slugs in your shotgun for a clean ethical kill.  I never did spot and stalk. Just remember hogs have excellent sense of smell and I don’t believe they have bad eye-sight. As soon as they catch movement they’re gone.  When they walk the trails they walk with their head slightly down using their sense of smell.  This just my observation... others may have difference in their opinions.  Good Luck!

You should go with experienced hunters and learn from them.  Advice from a forum is good general info, but nothing beats shadowing a veteran hunter.  Lots of little details you just won't find out otherwise.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
