Recommend a holster

Never really gave a holster for my Glock much thought since I can't carry my Glock in public. It occurred to me, however, that if you were to carry your firearm at home, having a holster would be a good idea. Otherwise you'd be forced to walk around the house drawn all the time.   Can anyone recommend a holster for my Glock?

Here's a couple of things you may wish to consider:

1. It (the holster) will only be used in emergencies such as when there is a home intrusion;
2. It should be simple and attach easily to casual apparel and maybe even in situations where you aren't wearing any casual apparel, like boxers or gym shorts (sling more appropriate?);
3. It doesn't need to be designed for conceal carry; and
4. It shouldn't break the bank

Recommendations would be appreciated.

I think you may want to reconsider this as a consideration for two reasons:
1.  You know when there's going to be an emergency, such as a home invasion, so you can put your holster on ahead of time?
2.  Someone breaks into your house, and you plan to stop and put on your holster?

Personally, in either case, that's a step I would skip, and go straight to pointing my gun at the baddie.  ;)

for my glock 19 and 23 i use a blackhawk cqc (non serpa), it doesn't have the button but still has good retention. comes with paddle and belt attachments. i like it.

Actually i was thinking more along the lines of a holster that instantly slips onto the waist of a pair of pants or shorts.

Comptac or Raven.

It's at home so IMHO you don't need the additional/more positive retention of things like the Serpa Level II/III holsters.

I recently picked up a few Remora holsters for this purpose, as well.  http://remoraholsters.com/

They haven't arrived yet, so I cannot give you my experience, but I am already pretty sold on them.  Look them up on youtube for some awesome reviews.  Why I got them?  Affordable, great for in the waistband carry, even in basketball shorts, easy to wash/clean, and they have a few good options to customize the holster to your needs, and made in USA,

I emailed them to ask for help in finding the right holster for my guns, they got back to me that day.  I placed the order and I believe they sent it out the following day.  Not bad!

Those look pretty interesting.  I'd love to hear your thoughts after you've had a chance to try them out!

Right. Nothing fancy.  Needs to be grab-and-go. Attaches to the waistband instantly (assuming you don't sleep in your birthday suit) and holds the firearm when not in use. No retention mechanism necessary to keep it light and simple. I figure a sling like you see those detectives use on TV is your only option if you sleep in your birthday suit.  I just can't imagine the look on the cops' faces when they arrive and see a nekkid man in the doorway with a holstered gun in a sling around his torso.

Remoras are excellent. I pack my wifes .357 mag Ruger LCR and a speed loader instead of my Glock if I need to run to the mini-mart, mail box, etc and I do not feel like throwing on the Crossbreed.  I only do this for short trips in my small town. Outside that, its G23 in the crossbreed with backup mags.

Works like a champ and inexpensive. Also makes a great bedside "holster" to prevent you from accidentally hooking the bang switch when you grab it in the night.

Definitely, I'll be sure to post something after I've had some time to develop my opinion on them.  Pics or review vid to come.

There are some guys that make "holsters" that just cover the trigger guard.  Mostly for those that put pistols into their pants so that the trigger is not accidentally actuated.  A piece of string is tied to the plastic holster.  You just pull the pistol until the slack is taken up and the cover pops off the trigger guard.

Since Mr. Fartknocker was obviously NatureBoy in grade school, you may just wear one of those as a loop around your neck (the one up top, not the one below) and run the rig that way.............................. :shake:
