I know this is England.  But Handguns are banned there and most rifles! Luckily we can stand up for our rights!

Yup. I posted it, too. Along with the 18 year old widow one from Oklahoma.

Not a peep from my largely left leaning gang of friends. They're probably all wondering who this red-neck is and what has he done with the real CLShade.  :o

The comment I posted with it:

"An interesting example of how well gun control is working in England. I know it "feels" right that people shouldn't need guns but the statistics don't always look the way they should when the law abiding populace is, in fact, forbidden from having them. I think the whole issue points to deeper issues around violence in our culture than a "simple" yes/no answer on firearms can address, though. Both sides of the issue are concerned about that violence. England tried banning all pistols and most rifles and this, so far, is how it is working out in their case."

Liberals hitched their cart to the horse of social science, and now they don't like where it's taking them.

Haha, it's hard to work up the courage to make an argument when you know ahead of time that the other person is going to calmly and methodically shred that argument with facts, statistics, and common logic.  I kind of admire the Brady Bunch for their willingness to constantly be proven wrong, although I wish they wouldn't insist on promulgating incorrect data to support their arguments.
