If I was going to be attacked by someone with a knife and could get away, I would run.  The knife I carry would be an advantage against an unarmed attacker.  Since I am nearing 70, I am thinking maybe I should carry a cane as another layer of protection.
One of those with a sword in the handle.

Are handcuffs and shackles illegal?

Strange statement...“At this time, she has some suspicious circumstances surrounding her death,”

There are people who commit suicide by tying/cuffing their hands right after putting a bag on their head or before jumping with a noose -- to prevent themselves from panicking and stopping their demise.

I can see someone using shackles to prevent themselves from stopping their drowning, however strange it might appear.  Suicidal people aren't always logical.

"Suspicious" is all they can say until the medical examiner determines cause of death.  If there isn't water in the lungs, it wasn't a suicide.   :shake:

Sad to say but our long ignored talking points are starting to make it into the headlines one senseless tragedy at a time.

I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.

If the press had any integrity, they would make the case that the justice system (i.e. the gov't) CAN'T protect us.  Therefore, pretending that banning a gun type or doing background checks for ammo will make us safer would be treated for what it is -- more gov't control that doesn't solve the problem.

People have learned to trust gov't to solve all their ills.  Personal responsibility (eg. self defense) is frowned upon.  How many times have we read, "That man he tried to rob didn't have to kill him.  He should have called the Cops and had him arrested!"  They know:  the system is very lenient to criminals if they know how to manipulate it.
