I know I’ll get shit for this, but I respect her for all of her accomplishments while a justice on the SCOTUS. I obviously don’t agree with her politics and decisions over the years. I highly doubt she’ll make it through 2020 as she is becoming sick more often and it is not just a cold anymore, cancer, infections, all recurring.

I don't wish ill health on anyone who has opposing views politically.  It's only when their decisions go against the Constitution, liberty, and/or the general welfare of the population as a segment or a whole that they should be criticized regardless of their personal health.

When they hold onto an office even after it's obvious they are simply unwilling to allow someone more fit to serve, it becomes a problem.  Patsy Mink comes to mind.

Her campaign kept saying "She's doing MUCH BETTER!!" up until the day after the deadline to take her name off the ballot.  Suddenly she took a turn for the worse and died a few days later.  After she was reelected posthumously (presumed to be based more on a tribute to her than ignorance of voters not knowing she'd died ), a special election at TAX PAYER EXPENSE was required to cover her final two years in office.  Had she dropped out of the race and her name removed from the ballot, candidates who were not already on the ballot would not be able to run in that year.  Forcing a special election allowed those who didn't want to campaign against Mink to run.  Had the election been held without Mink on the ballot, it's possible the Republican challenger, Bob McDermott, would have won.  She received 56.16% of the votes cast, and he finished with 39.98%.  The remaining two candidates receives less than 4% of the vote combined.  One was running as (L): Libertarian Party of Hawaii, and the other as (NL): Liberal.  So, had her name been removed, another Senate seat would have been more than likely under GOP control at a time when a Republican was in the White House.

Democrats don't care about the public or how much of our taxes they waste as long as they can manipulate the process to win / keep political power.   I see the RGB issue the same as Mink.  She's there to prevent Trump from nominating her replacement.  If they can keep her propped up long enough for Trump to be impeached or beaten at the polls, her Liberal duty will have been fulfilled.

Sadly, she should be retired and enjoying the rest of her life writing her memoirs or planting tulips.

It’s too bad that she is going to be remembered, and her legacy is going to be she outlasted Trump rather than her being remembered for her accomplishments. Assuming she outlasts Trump. I doubt she will, tho. I doubt Trump will lose this next election. But one never knows. Hill Dog could make another run and beat Trump this time.

But seriously, if you think Kavanaugh and impeachment are bad, just wait until RBG dies and Trump nominates a female justice. She’s going to be the biggest slut/whore this side of the Mississippi. They’ll come up with a bunch of wimpy millennials saying she forced them to have sex with her. They’ll probably have Ballsy Ford come back and testify that the nominee was her first lesbian experience. I could go on and on and on....

I'm sort of a pragmatic guy.
I like the saying " The good they die young"
That explains why RBG is still around and
millions of babies around the entire world are not.
Unlike most people on this site I was taught to
eliminate threats.   Even if it is only to wish a painful death
for a twisted old person, say like Patsy, or RBG,  or FDR.
Things like that deserve suffering.  It is just a small percentage
of what they caused innocent people to bear.

Strategically, it would be better if a Supreme Court vacancy did NOT open up before the election, for two important reasons:

1.  The Garland nomination being tabled until after the 2016 election, Trump and the Senate would be pressured to also put off any SCOTUS appointments until after 2020 or be labeled hypocrites.  Historical precedence supports not making such a nomination during the Presidential campaigns.  So, RGB leaving the court before next November doesn't give Trump another automatic slot to fill.  Hilariously, Wikipedia calls the Senate's refusal to vote on the nomination "unprecedented, when the practice has been the norm.  Although thirteen presidents have filled Supreme Court vacancies during a presidential election YEAR, they were not nominated and voted on in the middle of the campaign season leading up to the election.  To do so would be to make the vacancy fill a major election issue, one which should not be the primary factor when considering who will better execute the duties of the office.  It basically turns the Presidential election into a Supreme Court Justice election.

2.  With a Justice pick on the line, it could energize Democrat, independent and other voters who aren't thrilled with any candidate in the Dem primary becoming president.  The voters who aren't never-Trumpers may not intend to show up at the polls, but they may change their minds if it means Trump gets to flip the court decisively Conservative for the next decade or more.

Better to have Ruthie linger another 11+ months until after election night.

Excellent chance of that.  They would certainly pour untold amounts of money into preventing Trump getting another nomination.
