I was raised on revolvers and older  (50’s-70’s) .22 semi-auto target pistols. I was still pretty young when the “Wonder 9’s” (Semi auto 9mm’s) started becoming reliable and becoming mainstream. I bought a couple of them in the 70’s and eventually sold them and bought my Glock 17 Gen 2 around 1992. During the 80’s I bought newer target .22 semi autos. I eventually sold those as well. I still own the Glock and another 9mm semi auto but the rest of my handguns are revolvers (newer and older) and older .22 semi auto target pistols.

My first rifle was/is an Anschutz Model 64. It is a single shot .22 target rifle. My second rifle was/is a Marlin Model 60 which is a .22 semi auto tube feed. I still own both. I now have bought and sold numerous old battle rifles over the years but I now seemed to have settled on single shot cartridge rifles from around the transition period from black powder to smokeless powder before repeating (bolt action) rifles became popular. Rolling blocks, falling blocks, etc. I am still a .22 fanboy as I built 2 target rifles on the 10/22 platform. But I have found a new interest in old .22 pump action rifles from around the early 20th century.

My tastes have changed over the years but I seem to really enjoy older and towards the unusual types of guns.

Your tastes in firearms seem to be consistent with you, in general... 😳😝

5 years later, same question...

Knowing what you know now, if you had to do it all over again, what would you have done differently (if at all) with your long gun/shotgun/handgun selection?
Prior to moving here, not sold my two Ruger .44 mag revolvers or my Steyr SSG 69.   Did not care so much about my HK USP .40.

Would’ve told myself not to buy a bunch of different guns, but spend the money on building them up and investing in training.  A good solid semi-auto pistol, semi-auto rifle, training and lots of ammo.
No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.
