"We PARTNER with Pacific Rim countries.  We have mutual interests, so we provide resources and training as well as operational support when requested."

Well, Duterte has asked the US for help in destroying the drug lords in his country and the US with all of its military and police might has not directly utilized those assets to get rid of them.    >:( >:( >:(

"You want the US to start military operations inside the sovereign borders of a dozen MORE countries?"

I surely don't want that, since I am anti-imperialist, BUT the US already HAS military bases in other nations and HAVE conducted operations in other countries without the consent of the government of those nations.

Syria anyone?  When did President Assad invite US forces to conduct operations in his country?    :wtf:

Iraq anyone?  The Iraqi people want the US military out of their country, but the US says F.U., we will stay as long as we like?    :wtf:

You have no idea the breadth nor depth of the types of support we provide.  Do some research into JIATF-West as a starting point.  The multifaceted mission is too complicated for me to even begin to attempt to spoon feed you.

Sometimes you have to do a little work to fill in your knowledge gaps.  Don't be like EEF -- demanding everyone post everything he needs to learn.

No need.

All that kind of information I can learn from you.

Have you ever held a DoD security clearance?  I'm only asking because you're stomping around here like you don't understand how that works.

No.  I do not have any such type of clearance.

However, like many on this forum, I often converse with those that do and they have a different perspective that what is routinely shared in this forum.

Well, continuing to drop US tax payer money to corrupt government officials knowing it will not be used to combat the drug problem in the Philippines YEAR-after-YEAR is the definition of INSANITY.

Mischaracterization.

The US funding IS beig used to combat the problem.

The issue is there is money from OTHER SOURCES (i.e. criminals) being added to the pot in order to influence law enforcement and government employees.

Nice try at misrepresenting the facts.

Insanity is continuing to argue with someone who can't comprehend even the most basic of information being posted here.

If the leader in PI that you're supporting continues down the path of human rights violations as Assad did, then the US, along with other UN member states, would be justified in acting -- just like we did in Syria after the "red line" was crossed.  Of course, it took Trump to enforce Obama's red line.

So far, all you've posted are your own ignorant opinions.  You've offered no supporting opinions from these "others" with "different perspectives" with regard to this subject.

Now you think "unnamed sources" you "converse" with add relevance and credibility to your uninformed BS?

Do these "others" ever talk to anyone other than you?  Hint: hearing voices is not a sign you are conversing with "others".

EXACTLY THE POINT!

The US knows the government they are giving money to is CORRUPT!

You still did not answer the question as to why the US is throwing money to those CORRUPT government officials?

STOP DODGING THE QUESTION!

Wow.  There you go again in your sly under-the-radar praise of Obama.      :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

At least you are honest that you agree with his foreign policies with regards to Syria that Trump passionately disagreed with during his campaign trail.  I do not fault Trump's actions in Syria because he is trying to clean up Obama's mess and get the US out of there.     :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake:

Totally off topic, but did we really take action against a Russia backed Syria?
Or was our action against Syria what got Russia’s backing ?

I thought we went after ISIS in Syria and then bailed on the rebels and the Kurds.
 :stopjack:
We’re not gonna take action against Duterte unless he starts chemical bombing neighborhoods because they are suspected drug havens.
Duterte is taking a page straight out of Trump’s playbook.

As an aside, Wasn’t the origin of the 1911 rooted in our previous actions in the Philippines ?

Quote
The planned deployment adds to an increasingly volatile conflict in Syria, where Russia and Iran have
increased up their military support for President Bashar al-Assad’s fight against rebels in the four-and-a-half
year civil war.

That was in 2015, under Obama.  Russia and Iran increasingly supported Assad during the entire civil war in Syria.  One of the theories as to why Obama and Clinton left the Benghazi consulate operating amid constant attacks on other countries' embassies and missions is because Amb. Stevens was the point man for covert arms shipments through Turkey to the Syria rebels.  It was Obama's attempt to avoid openly engaging in a conflict that would pit us against Russia and Iran.

I don't know what this "Trump Playbook" is that you think you know about, but it's not even close to being rational, much less  accurate.

Can’t help the ignorant (as in that’s a comment you would make)

Did we really take action against a Russia backed Syria ?

Trump’s playbook...puffing your chest to get the result you hope to get. Philippines not holding the cards in this one though. Trump often has the cards.

Over and out as I don’t want to derail another thread but I know you need the last word.

Just like STDs, I know you will always be around.    :shaka:

Really though, everyone knows the reason you do not wish to continue arguing your contention with regards to the issues in this thread is because it will further reveal America's TRUE INTERESTS in the Philippines.

As President Duterte always stated and like I contended earlier in this thread, the primary reason the US wishes to maintain a relationship with the Philippines is for its geopolitical and military strategy against China.  Regardless of what corrupt crime or drug powers are ruling the Philippines, the US will continue to give US taxpayer money to them, as long as it can maintain a legal military presence in the region.

Although some Americans will acknowledge this evil arrangement and say it is necessary for the security of the US, I call BS.  The Americans intentions/actions are blatant acts of IMPERIALISM towards its FORMER UNWILLING COLONY, who will unfortunately pay the price in Filipino blood for any prevocational military actions taken by the US against China.
