Yeah, I really shouldn't set an age, but more a physical fitness level.  I'm 70 but still climbing and removing trees for extra income. I still feel I can hold my own with a younger bigger stronger guy IF I have a weapon (non firearm). When I reach the point that I feel too feeble to protect myself with a knife, I'll start packing.  I am not going to let some asshole beat the crap out of me and possibly be a vegetable  or crippled for the rest of my short remaining life in this screwed up world if I can help it.  Darn, there really are advantages of being old.
What is the saying?
"Don't pick a fight with an old man,  he will just shoot you,  and leave you in a ditch".
Kids nowadays should know what us old farts were taught.
You are 70 and still doing trees?  My SIL was a professional logger and faller.
he had to stop in his early thirties, due to injuries. Too many people
dropping shit on him. My hat's off to you.

Surfers have been a lot more aggressive in the lineup recently. Seeing it in traffic as well. People are on edge.

This is what happens when there is more consequences for mask violations than assault and robbery.

What's the most the perp going to get? Maybe a night in jail, free meal, and possibly an apology for putting them in risk of catching covid?

This city and state is fvked up and hope people are voting right....

The current conditions we are in is ripe for escalating civil unrest.  While there is certainly possibilities of serious crimes to increase due to this, I can see just overall behaviors changing.

People being more impatient.  Less forgiving.  Less understanding.

Frustrations in traffic that most people endure are now being acted upon .  It seems more people are impatient and speeding and cutting off vehicles that are actually driving the maximum speed limits.

As anxiety, frustrations, and fear mounts, people will behave more irrelevant, arguments and confrontations will increase.

Ige, Caldwell, and other leaders are lucky they are in Hawaii.  Hawaii people are usually slow to anger.  In other states signs of violence and civil unrest is mounting and getting worse.

But there's a limit to everything.  They need to take this possibility into consideration when they do their stupid public directives.
