Motivational reasoning and politics

Found this good video on motivational reasoning.  Why people act and make the choices they make even if it doesn't make sense.  It explains a lot of what happens in your life, politics, problems, and movements.  Highly recommended.  As I always say, be skeptical of the things you want the most.

Do you think you're affected by this when it comes to politics?

Bumping this up.  This does explain of what's going on on both sides.  The riotting, cancel culture and impeachment conspiracies on the left.  The qanon, pizza gate, and election fraud on the right.

1. I conclude she is wrong due to her unconscious confirmation bias.

2. If someone believes that persons other than the constitutionally-required state legislatures did not change election rules, well... not to mention all the other stuff... 1,000+ sworn affidavits, video tape, etc.... that's not "motivational reasoning".
