I worded my phrase that way because I figured you would ask me something along the lines of whether I told my kids Santa Claus was real and when I said yes you would call me a liar about not lying. I can just imagine you in some movie scene in a court house:
"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, EEF said he doesn't lie, yet 2 christmases ago he told his son Santa Claus was real!"

How many times on this forum have you denied being law enforcement?

Just because the courts let Cops lie to suspects doesn't mean it's NOT a lie!

They are literally trained to lie their butts off at every available opportunity

That's one of the biggest reasons nobody trusts them. Nor should they.
Stop blaming lazy people. We didn’t do anything.

you usually don't make absolute statements like that to avoid being "wrong"

Isn't that a good thing?

Let me tell you a story when I was a kid. My mom was driving and waiting to pull into traffic but had trouble seeing on my side of the car. She asked me if any cars were coming. I answered "No. But there is a truck coming." My answer was two-fold.
#1 I was trying to be accurate (honest) so I said no
#2 I added that a truck was coming because the goal of her question was to ascertain whether it was safe to pull out and that did not matter whether there was a car coming vs another type of vehicle coming.

I have a strong tendency towards the truth, almost to a fault as can be seen in the story above so I get technical but I also try to cover the general as well. I don't always nail the right balance so I sometimes modify my statements somewhat to be as technically accurate as possible. Some people seem to inaccurately think this as a sign of dishonesty when it is quite the opposite.

So are you admitting you would have tried a gotcha question?

BTW Have I denied being law enforcement?

Or maybe you were more forthcoming with the complete answer because the truck was on your side, and you knew the wrong answer would be bad for you.

You answered my question with 2 questions.

I rest my case.

Wrong, refusing to answer does not constitute a denial.

And you avoided my question to you, should I rest my case that you would have done a gotcha question

That doesn't even make sense.
I clearly stated my thought process.

When someone asks a question, it's not a "gotcha question" unless you allow the person the chance to demonstrate it was.  That can only happen if you answer it.

No answer.  No gotcha question.

You were a kid.

That's not an example of a thought process.  It's an example of realizing you made a mistake and correcting it.  Much simpler than how you described.
