Shadow Systems CR920 is peaking my interest. They are super good as a company. The older design "butt barrels" might have a reliability issue. No major, but some guns using X ammo have it. The problem didnt show up in their testing.

So they will send u a new barrel (no butt) with return postage. They dont want u to send in the barrel or gun 1st cause they dont want u to be without a gun. So its an honor system return that u will sens back the butt barrel.

Got the new version, no butt barrel...wish they made an optional 10 rd mag like the 13 rounder...or better yet, wish we could use the 13 rounder

I just got it on Thursday but didn't get to fire it yet. Hope it's as good as my xr920 and mr920L...although reports have been opposite with the butt barrel..we see how the updated one works out...hopefully get to it on 4th of July. Loving the xr tho...with the mr920L and the xr, the slides are interchangeable making them into a dr920 and a mr920...very versatile like having 4 different configurations...hoping the cr won't disappoint

Shot the cr920, P365XL spectre and p365 today to compare....
CR felt nice in the hand, trigger pull felt nice while dry firing but I didn't like the feel of the trigger shoe itself. For me it was uncomfortable on my trigger finger but didn't bother my friend who also tried it. Little snappy and not like shadow claims it shooting like a compact...real close recoil felt almost like the p365. Extended mag helped alot...definitely not as soft as a compact though.  Did about 150 rds of the 200 rd break in required with no malfunctions other than 1 stove pipe. I still prefer the P365XL  out of all 3.
Size wise is right in between both sigs.
Grip length is very close to a standard p365 with the flush mags. Slide length a tad longer but compared to the xl, alot smaller and just as thin...wish SS will come out with pinky finger extensions for the flush mag or even 10 rd extended mags like the 13rd ones.
Going from the CR directly to the MR920....man the MR is so sweet to shoot.
As for my go to carry gun? I'd go with a p365X with longer grip and short slide. Sig trigger is mushy during dry fire but not noticeable during live fire.
During the session, I realized how bad my eyes were shooting with irons...got spoiled by red dots on my compacts. Will definitely add a red dot on the CR920 for back up carry gun.

I'll post some pics of the size comparison between the three when I get ahold of my buddy's standard p365 over the weekend. Can't go wrong with any of these for CCW.
Here's a comparison of the p365XL spectre and the CR920 for now.

Of course, I can't carry so everything is only in theory.

I want the smallest package which is flat with no protrusions or extras like RD or extended mags or lights.
I want something that fits in an inside-pocket holster with no bulges showing outside.
I want 10 shots in a slim package instead of 7 or 8.  If I need more than 10 shots then I made a fatal mistake of not bringing my AR.
(The proverbial bringing a knife to a gunfight)
I don't need to shoot at 25 yards at Kokohead, only 5-7 yards.

I got a SIG 365 with the manual safety, so I can carry 1 in the chamber with the safety on.
The standard model doesn't have the manual safety.... but SIG says it can be carried safely with 1 in the chamber - spooky.

Having said the above, I got this pistol mag protector to carry 1 extra mag with 10 rounds, then I have 20 rounds to bring to the gunfight......... :shake:
