I wouldn't carry it scout for edc
1. Security. It's much easier to control what is in front of you vs behind you if it came h2h. You might get made easier and ambushed much easier.

2. I see you arguing for this carry, but the spinal issues are real. To test your method out simply do a hard break fall, tryforward and backward tumble on carpet first, then try it on asphalt.I am pretty sure in those sterile environments you will still injure yourself. In a h2h melee or even walking around it's easy to fall or trip. When I see uniformed officers wearing their gun belt with gear on the spine, I cringe.

Cross draw of a fixed knife allows use of either hand. Forward/saber/hammer or reverse/icepick.
This means the weapon can be drawn in a clinch. If you were to scout carry and I controlled your dominant wrist you would not be able to draw. I could also draw if on the ground, from a variety of positions...same can't be done with he scout mode.

Scout can be used or specialized duties like concealment to assassination. It has too many drawbacks.

Why not just carry a small 3-4 inch fixed blade on the belt vertically? That is the most comfortable way I have carried a knife in regular clothing. I have never tried this horizontal style personally though so I cannot really say much against it. Although I think it would be uncomfortable on the lower back.

I only use folders.  Easy to conceal IWB.
"The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized."
