If you allow government to break the law for an "emergency" they will create "emergencies" to break the law.

You obviously aren't considering traffic, parents needing to drop off their kids before work, transportation to private schools that aren't serviced by state busses, and so on.

If you support is kids getting another hour to sleep after staying up until 3AM playing video games, then you're not being objective.

My daughter went to a charter school that started at 9:00 am so I have direct experience with those issues.

My kids don't stay up until 3am playing games. There is science showing children perform better when they start school later, that is why I support this idea.

House Bill 27-36 would codify the symbol’s ties to the islands.

Historians trace the most well-known origin story back to the 1940s ′s when Sugar mill worker Hamana Ka-lili used to wave with only his pinky and thumb after losing his three right middle fingers in an industrial accident in Laie.

Siu says if Hawaii doesn’t declare ownership of the shaka, others will.

Motorcycles are louder and the riders around my area love to rev in the early morning hours to announce their presence.
=========
from my house I can hear motorcycles and cars racing on the H1 in the middle of the night, typically around 12 to 2am.
I estimate My house is a half mile from the H1.

Soooo....You wonder why we have so many car crashes.

yep I hear them too. Its Darwinism at work in the wee hours. Had a drifter slam into a tree up the street from me and another take out a utility pole.

I'm shocked.
We need laws protecting trees and light poles.

The more I follow 2A related bills, the more I get to see what other types of bills are being heard/presented.  Man, there's  a lot of wasted energy.  It's also interesting to watch the hearings as you have to wait for your bill to come up.  Last years Finance Committee, they had 1 about trying to make vaping illegal cause kids are doing it. Well, vaping isn't cheap, so how are these kids getting the money for it, and there's already laws about being X age to purchase.  No one brought this up, but like gun laws, the solution is to ban things and not dig deeper into the root of the problem.

Then the same hearing, they had a thing about vacation rentals being taxed like 40% or something. Many testifiers mentioned the Constitution and excessive taxations.  I wish I had my James Franco meme "First time?" with regard to the state violating peoples Constitutional right.

I never kept track of both bills, so IDK how far they got or if they even passed into law.  But Vegas passed a vacation rental law that on one within 1 mile can have another vacation rental as you.  And not within 5 miles of the strip.

yep
Like I said before, they (legislators) are running out of things to legislate about.
Here is an idea, why not have a few years of anti-legislation?
Instead of making new ones, look at all the old, outdated, ineffective laws and strike them off the books?

You can only fill up a cesspool for so long before it needs to be pumped out. .. same thing

Not sure if I read it here on this forum or elsewhere but your post made me think of it.  It says if you want to clear the water you have to get rid of the pigs first.

Term limits.

Our good buddy Marx holds more power than the Governor with regard to 2a stuff, as he is the sole decider what 2a related bills gets a hearing or not.  There is no way he will give up that seat.
