Game room self-defense shooting

Stuff like this gives some assurance that we won't be charged in a self-defense incident - if they decline to charge criminals in a self-defense incident, then we should be okay.  Think this has happened at other game rooms in the past with guns and knives being used.  There have been bills introduced every year to remove the "no duty to retreat from workplace" and wondering if it's related to stuff like this.

Not sure what happened, but it could've been a robbery with the shooter being employed as security.  No duty to retreat required at place of work in order to use deadly force.  Shooter was charged as a prohibited person due to misdemeanor abuse of household member, felony drug distribution, and felony for prior prohibited person.

According to a statement from the prosecutor’s office, “The murder charge was declined because there was sufficient evidence that showed that Fiso acted in self-defense.”
