HB893 AWB is dead.

Well that's a reason to celebrate, right?

Weren't the Senate's 50 cal ban and mag limit bills wrapped up into that one?

It's a good thing, had a good chance of failing later but we can rest assured for now and it saves us a bit of work later.

Alive are the 50 cal rifle ban and ghost gun possession ban along with the other stuff.

SB308 the senate mag ban died.

SB401 the senate 50 cal said there were going to merge it with HB893, but now it's unsure what the plans are.

HB893 banned all semi auto rifles, but with a grandfather clause. HOWEVER, if the rifles ever left the state for any reason, you cannot bring it back. No grandfather for mag ban.

Legislature has ended and some new gun laws took effect already. Pass the word on

Act 22 Secure Storage - In retail sales/transfer of firearms, a copy of the updated HRS 134-10.5 must be provided. Also for gun owners,  firearms must be locked in a secure container when left unattended or carried on or be in close proximity to the owner.

Act 18 Ghost Guns - This bans currently legal registered guns that were built from unserialized frames and receivers since the manufacturer didn't print and register the serial number.   It was meant for the criminal possession of such guns, so I'm not sure if they will enforce it on legal gun owners.  There's also the unconstitutionality of banning something that was legal prior.

SB1030 Polling Places - Pending governors signature. Prohibits the open carry of dangerous instruments and firearms within 200 feet of voting centers and ballot drop boxes.
