As youth crime seems to be increasing on Oahu, new laws recently signed by the governor will soften treatment of some juvenile offenders.

Experts say Hawaii is actually catching up to the rest of the country with the reforms.

One of the new laws would ban the arrest and criminal treatment of any child under 12 years old, and another would guarantee parole for anyone, even multiple murderers who commit the crime before their 21st birthday.

hawaii is the new kind of stupid.

hawaii, in it's quest to keep up with the mainland, has become the mainland.

Instead of justice and doing the right thing, hawaii would rather be concerned with image and keeping up with the joneses.

This is why gangs use under age recruits to commit murder.
"Sooo you want to join our gang? You need to prove your value by murdering
a few people, but not to worry, the state will treat you like a child and give you a
light sentence if any."

What kind of weird BS science is this? I will say it again: Hawaii just loves to ape CA.

Take appropriate precautions.
Avoid the Waianae area. Too many crackheads.
ALL my relatives who grew up Waianae side have moved away.
...not exaggerating

During the 1990's I used to love to go to the Leeward side early in the mornings (5am) to go fishing along the Waianae, Nanakuli, and Maile beaches.

I like to whip (light spin casting with light fishing gear) using artificial lures.  I would walk the shores for what like seems miles just casting for whatever would take my lure.

I loved fishing this way.  I would almost always release what I catch and maybe keep one or two for my meal that day.

Would I try that today?  F*ck no.  I still want to live.

Plus I don't think my car will be there when I get back.......

I apologize in advance for any whom I may injure or kill in defense of my or my loved one's life.  I am sorry if you under 21 or 12 or whatever age this bullshit law says.  Try to hurt me when I have done nothing to hurt or offend you and I will do my best to make sure you never do that again.  I just passed my 75th birthday and the only way I can effectively defend myself is with a force multiplier.  I won't say what they are but I carry 4 different kinds on me whenever I leave the house..
