Theres a Glock 22 Gen 2 complete slide on ebay bidding for $150, hopefully get it.
Good luck.

Is there an "average" number of years you can plan on finding new replacement Glock factory parts?  OEM parts?

28 years seems a bit long IMO to expect new parts to be available -- unless you find someone who stores new-old stock.

Just curious. I would expect after 28 years I'd be forced to go to eBay (like you just did) or Gunbroker.com searching for used or surplus parts.

My oldest Glock is Gen4.  Even those are starting to feel like they're obsolete.   :shake:

I don't think the teeny, tiny crack on that slide caused a way-out-there shot.....

The crack goes all the way through.  When I bend the slide with my hands, a gap opens up.  I imagine it opens up a lot more when firing a 40SW round.

Glock parts will be available for a long time through Glock and other manufacturers since they're the top manufactured handgun for decades.  I'm sure there's law enforcement agencies still using Gen 1s.  Also California has their handgun ban where you can only buy Gen 3 and below there.

Don’t be so self deprecating.

I have a Glock 20 - maybe I should be replacing that plasticy recoil spring too ….

The Gen 1-3 springs last 3 to 5k rounds.  Gen 4+ springs last 7 to 10k rounds

C'mon !
That's less than 90 rounds per month !

I used to shoot it a lot when it was my main gun so a lot of that was over 15 years.  Used it to show my friends how to shoot,  Front Sight, Sig Academy, Rangemaster, Mission Bravo, the USPSA competitions, and other stuff.  The memories.

Can you just put one of those gold gangster looking aftermarket slides on it?

You know...to match your sparkly grill?
