July 3rd at 8:30am is MPPL's IPSC 101 Class date. I'd recommend getting there at least 15min early to find the match director who will be teaching the 101 class.
All 3 of the clubs here are associated with USPSA, unfortunately many years ago someone complained that we should not be shooting IPSC due to the fact that you start from a concealed carry position and we do not have concealed carry here in Hawaii.
MPPL: Great club to start shooting with, they also have rifle and shotgun side matches as well.
HPS: More of an IPSC style club where you shoot at smaller triangle shaped targets. It's also more of a run & gun style shooting club where most of the stages are assault type stages where you are advancing at your targets.
Honolulu Rhat Rhat Boyz: Most of the current members of this club shoot "Open" guns" so it wouldn't be as competitive if you are the only one shooting in the "Production" or "Limited" class. This club is also more IPSC style club where you shoot at smaller triangle shaped targets.
You may want to read on the USPSA rules & regs to be more familiar with the different classes of pistols, etc. See website below.
