Veterans Treatment Court volunteers needed
« on: December 16, 2014, 05:16:26 PM »
Seeking military veterans to become volunteer mentors with the State Veterans Treatment Court under Judge Kubo.  Mentors help guide a fellow military veteran, who got into trouble with the law, through their treatments and help them towards a clean and better life.  Looking for volunteers with a wide array of honorable military service and/or deployments, and successful experiences as a civilian.  No professional experience required, just have to talk to them, and offer guidance and support.  And have lots of patience.

Requires attending weekly court sessions on Friday at 2pm-4pm at the state courthouse in downtown with your assigned veteran, and talk to them or meet with them once a week.  You don't have to be at court every week as another person can substitute for you if you can't occasionally make it.  And the weekly court sessions become monthly sessions as your veteran progresses through the program.

Let me know if you are interested in helping out.  This helps a fellow veteran become a productive citizen, keeps them out of prison, and saves taxpayer money.
