Prescription Safety/Competition Glasses
« on: April 25, 2016, 11:35:51 PM »
I can see without glasses, but my vision isn't exactly 20/20 either. Whenever I go to the range, I wear my rx specs with the extra large safety glasses overtop - great vision, but uncomfortable.

Does anyone in the state offer prescription safety glasses, preferably with extra features like yellow-lenses, UV protection, etc.? Tried Kaiser, and we all know about Kaiser and the 2A community.  Tried some online stores but either website crashes or their menus are too tedious. Any thoughts would be helpful, thanks!

For up close vision, use a lower than normal prescription.  If you use say a 2.00, go with a 1.00-1.50.  Try looking at something at arms length.  Enough just to get a focus on the front sight but not blurring out anything far away.  You can get these types of safety glasses online, even via amazon for relatively cheap.

For distance, I personally use Rudy Project and Oakley that offer prescription shooting glasses.  They are not generally cheap, but I know my local optometrist could order the Oakley glasses as I believe any local optometrist that is an Oakley dealer can order.  I however order my own direct via Oakley or Rudy due to certain programs, so I just get my rx prescription and fax or email it in with my order.

Oakley.  That is all.
"The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized."

I used Oakley rx in the past, but at $500/ea to handle different lighting conditions - it gets crazy.
I got lasik over a year ago and never looked back.
Knowing what I know now - I would have done it a long time ago.
