Hornady 174 gn FMJBT 0.3105" bullets

When I bought these from Cabelas, they said they're .312" which my MN 91/30 shoots well. The box says .3105" so mislabeled on the website. I can't decide if I should try them or return them. The .015" isn't a great difference. I've opened the box but not the bag.

May be a misprint. Only way to know is to pull out 1 bullet and measure it with a micrometer. Hornady makes good bullets and  .312 174 grn is the same bullet used for 7.65 Argentine Mauser, 303 British, and 7.7 Japanese Arasaka.  I load for those 3 rifles and that is the bullet I use. Unless it was a factory seconds that did not meet QA and was sold cheap in bulk. You can tell right away if you pull out 1 bullet and just put the nose into the muzzle of your rifle as a quick check----if it is loose you know it is on the small side.

After I bought these, they all went on sale. At least I got free shipping. I complained to Cabela's about the label and they gave me back the difference for this product only. I tried dropping it into my barrel and it seems like a tight fit, so now I'm curious how they perform. I just know that I get better results with .312 than I do with .311.
