I bought a ddi ak with the magpul Zhukov furniture recently. So far so good. I have about 200 rounds through it. I did a lot of research before buying it. And it seemed the ddi was about the best production level ak you could get for under $1000 with the Zhukov furniture. Also it comes with a fenocite(nitride) finish with gunkote on top of that to help reduce corrosion. This was a major factor in buying it for me since guns in Hawaii seem to rust if you just look at them wrong.

Their Hungarian/Polish builds have a good reputation but the All Americans they sell now are having some small issues with extractors, the company seems really good about their Warranty though.
