I noticed on the HRA website that they are having an annual meeting on August 27th but there are no details.  Anyone know about it?  I haven't seen anything on their facebook page, haven't seen any emails, or haven't received responses about the event.

HRA is having their annual meeting on Sunday August 27th and there will also be shooting competitions.  Must be an HRA member to attend.  You can signup for membership on their website www.hawaiirifleassociation.org and contact them for the meeting information and to RSVP.

I got in late, but just in time for lunch.  Nice grilled burgers.  Had about 40 members attending.  Harvey(pres) briefly discussed the CCW court cases and this year's legislative session.  Our Hawaii speaker of the house changed leadership which will majorly impact next years session.  It's going to go from being a slightly conservative house speaker to a very anti-gun one where pro-gun bills won't be heard while anti-gun bills will be.  HRA is not making any major pro-gun moves next year because of this.

The bylaws were changed so non-US citizens can join the HRA now.

Voting in the board of directors was very quick since there were no challengers.  The HRA officers and board members have not changed for a long time.  I think this is a big problem to the organization and gun community where there are no fresh ideas coming in and shortage of trained leaders being made.  I might run for the board next year, I suggest others do too.

Rest of the day was an open shoot on paper and steel.  Daniel from KGS provided some loaner guns and ammo for a quick shooting competition.
