Persistent: 99-year-old files lawsuit based upon his 58 year old research. WINS! (Read 1752 times)

Peripheral, but stick with me for a second. One of the "frustrating" things about the legal attempts to restore our Second Amendment rights is that lawsuits take so long to work their way through the court system (Peruta was filed in 2009... still waiting...). It seems rather futile to me (at least given the make-up of the Hawaii and Ninth Circuit and even SCOTUS judiciary). Those who go that route would have to be "persistent". So I was inspired to read this obituary about a scientist who, 58 years after having published research that proved his point filed at lawsuit at the age of 99 (from a wheelchair) and finally won recognition for and action about his scientific finding. Now THAT'S persistence!

I wonder if some of us live to 102 if things will be any different here in Hawaii regarding our Second Amendment rights? I don't really want to think about that...  :(

Reminds me of the movie I watched last month about the guy who invented the intermittent windshield wiper.  Ford stole and marketed his design after he brought it to them to arrange for Ford to buy it.

Ruined his life, but he never gave up.

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
